    1. Bloody Heck! What a beautiful medal. I did not know the enamel work and the metal work was so fine. The close up photos are superb.
    2. yeah-very cool Border guard badge! I like that sport badge too!
    3. Is it possible he's 'Reichsmarine @ 1920? There was a two year period where the Reichs forces had that odd "stripe" NCO rank system.
    4. VERY very unusual-so unusual I think it is not original-well, suspicious anyway. It would be an enlisted mans' bar. almost certainly an NCO or some sort. Odd things did happen though-especially with senior NCOs and in the Landwehr (Feldwebel Lts and whatnot).
    5. I think it is French monarchy-pre 1792....BUT it may be first Bourbon restoration (1815-30).
    6. Nice Brigade badges- 1970s? That mothers' medal is really rare isn't it?
    7. karl troop kreuz and the 1914/18 medal? also note- NO HKx!
    8. The first and only Brunswick enamel schanlle I have ever seen. I bet there can't be more than 2-3 of them in the world.
    9. veery cool! Veeeryy!! What were the battles like? swirling cavalry melees?
    10. I think I read the top one as EK2/Bav MMC/HKx/Austrn war merit:bravery(?)/LS/LS -nice sharp eagle wing devices too! the bottom one-that last ribbon has a bar! What can that be?
    11. I don't know if this was "normal" practice for earlier Romanian bars, but i know that Austrian made Crusade medals were awarded/given with those "bent over" style bars. Interesting-
    12. You- Lucky- Dog!! A Carlist Wars medal for $130!! I reckon you got it at a 70% discount!!
    13. Are those Bavarian buttons? Is he a Feldwebel LT? If it didn't stretch credibility I'd think that his ribbons were that Wurtmbrg. cross, EK2 (with typically 'saxon' ek device) Bav. MMC, Luitpold and Bav. LS. Ye Gods, I'd love for RR to see that one!
    14. Apparently the British occupation Red Hats took away the Stempel (reverse die) but accidentally left the obverse in the machine. The original docs and stempel are probably in the archives somewhere in London. I have heard that Souval also remade the backing plate later and that these were sold marked Souval in the 1960s and 1970s, especially in the USA where he sold to gun/military sellers like Flayderman (Oh to see his import docs!). I can't confirm the latter paragraph though-that's just medal show gossip.
    15. good lord-Bucharest! How much?
    16. wow!!!! I have never seen the St. Fernandez before! Ironic that it was given to a fwew who had served there a mere 10 years before under Napoleon huh? Beautiful!
    17. The first postcard i ever bought-1973, 5p. Grman POWs in 1917 marched through a town in England.
    18. This is my attempt to win an EK2 from chris B! I'll pay $1 to everyone who contributes a photo! Please show your WW1 POWs-any nation, anywhere! Ta Tommys- France, March, 1918.
