    1. Dan So here are some other items from the Box. I did not take pictures of everything, but some of this stuff is from my Great Uncle Paul who served in the European Theather. I believe this one flag may be French taken from a house or something. The toy is interesting, and of course, the Japanese Flag. Some other things that were in the Box is my Great uncle Paul's Whistle witha picture of him with it, some pins and patches from his unit or my Great Uncle Earl. There was also a bunch of coins and paper money from all over the Pacific. My friend separated some of the coins out, which contained silver. Didn't know if you were interested in them. In one envelope was a Prussian Pfenning from 1922, that the note in the envelope said was carried by my Great Aunt Johanna in her pocket from Germany. They came to the US in 1923. Pretty neat. So here are the pictures:
    2. Dan Thank you so much. The information is more than what I was expecting. Do you think that its work restoring to original configuration? I will get some photos of a Japanese Flag that I was given also in the same box. I also have another flag that I have no idea what it is. Thanks again.
    3. I received a box of stuff from my Great Aunt's house. Inside a metal lunchbox, there were some random items in the box. One item that came to interest was this item below. I am thinking this is some gage off a vehicle; please help if you can.. Here are some pictures:
    4. This is very interesting. Can you come up with a list of all RK winners who served in the Bundeswehr? The first one tha tcomes to mind to me is Rudolf Witzig (Heer/Luftwaffe). He served the remainder of his career in the Army and rose to the rank of Colonel of Engineers.
    5. Chris, I was going through some old posts and saw that you were looking for a MP-18.I. Here in the US, there was a guy offering a deactivated MP-18.I. Here is the link: http://www.gunbroker...?Item=279901657. The auction is now over, but you might be able to contact him and see if he still has it for sale. This auction just closed this week. Jason
    6. Gentlemen Yesterday I received one of my most cherished items now in my collection thanks to a friend. It is a RIR 109 Pickelhaube Cover with manufacturers mark and size in it. Interesting enough, the letters are stenciled in green and not sewn. It has some damage (because of age) to the cloth attachments for the spike, but I have placed it into a Rike Box now to keep it out of the elements. I thought that I would share this with everyone.
    7. I was wondering if anyone out there can tell me about the MP-28.II and the use of magazines. Can the MP-28.II use any other types lof magazines like the MP-35/38/40? Any other information would be appreciated like what other SMG parts could be used as swap outs in the SMG. I have read that the the MP-40 Trigger group, etc. could be used. Thanks
    8. That is a pretty amazing rack. The guy witht he glasses is also pretty impressive with the EK1.
    9. So I have been offered this. I do not know much about 1939 EK's. I know this combination is hard to fine. It looks a little too clean to me, but I may be wrong. Could anyone give me some feedback on this? Thanks, ostprussenmann
    10. Dave, been following the topic. That is some informative insite. One of my realatives for example was awarded a EK II in 1917, and close to the end of the war was awarded the Baden Miltary Merit Order/medal. In regards to this specific topic, I guess the real question is "what year was the photo taken?" That could narrow down some answers. Thanks for the info. it is a great photo though.
    11. Wow, that is pretty neat. Seems like in good condition being over 70 years old.
    12. Wow, what a great thing. At least its preserved and does rust away like the titantic or Bismark is doing. Any unit markings on these? The Vickers looks like an aircraft variant.
    13. It is always great to hear a story like this. I wish wish you the best of luck and be on the look out for what you are looking for. It was something (a simple picture) like this that got me into collecting. I can wait to hear about what eh future brings for you on this project.
    14. It's a shame that all of these great men are starting to die off. If anyone has a WWII veteran that is still living, I would reccomend digitally recording their stories. I started doing it a few years ago. I only had wished that I had done it for my Grandfather. i still remember some of his stories, but our children will never get to hear the stories of our ancestors. Col Dick Winters passed this year, this man did, and the Pearl Harbor survivors are not meetintg anymore. It is a sad story.
    15. Since everyone's help, I was able to find out the following information if anyone is interested. 1. 16. Daniel I have a new date for you. Major Erwin Ludwig von Steinberg, Baden FAR Nr. 76: Actual award patent for HOH3X- 26.4.1918 (temporary patent was marked 29.9.1918). i have seen both documents.
