    1. The second is a bit of a mess. We have - 1. 1813 EK mounted in reverse 2. Prussian 1813-14 campaign medal 3. Prussian 1813-15 commemorative medal (1863) 4. Prussian 25 year long service cross 5. Prussian/Hohenzollern 1848-49 medal for combatants 6. Russian medal for the capture of Paris
    2. Hello dedehansen Very curious. “...an saxsonian officer during the wars from 1866, 1870 and 1914.” That would have made him about 68 years old when the war broke out in 1914. He must have been a very senior officer, so those decorations should be easy to trace. Are the EK’s from 1914?
    3. That is along the line of my initial reaction. At first glance, I thought that the Kaiser's bar had come back on the market.
    4. A very attractive cross. I would also like to know what it is. Hopefully someone will be able to tell us.
    5. Hello Soviet 1000, A beautiful star you have there, congratulations. I think that you will find that the commander of the 13th Army at that time was General-Lieutenant Nikolai Pavlovich Pukhov. Regards, Wild Card
    6. Frankly, I would not touch anything from this source. I think that it has been established that he consistently offers bogus medal bars. If he is not manufacturing them, he certainly is their source to the market. As to why he would make single pieces, why not. If he can make one, why not make a dozen at the same time? Then he has a supply from which he can make more bars in the future while selling a few individual pieces along the way. No Gentlemen, I’m sorry but I would not give this individual my business or money no matter how good or genuine the offering might be. People of his ilk contribute nothing positive to our hobby and we are all far better off without them being a part of it.
    7. Hello Captain Albert, Over the years, I have found Tim Eriksen to be an excellent source for Imperial German ribbon. Good luck, Wild Card
    8. Hello Phil Steele, As you have already found, a single book fitting your needs (in English) simply does not exist; but there is a really excellent alternative. Check out the series “Aviation Awards of Imperial Germany in World War I and The Men Who Earned Them” by Neal O’Connor. Don’t let the title discourage you, Neal did an excellent job of explaining the background of the awards; and he covers virtually all states. Unfortunately these books are out of print, but they are around and well worth the search. Good luck, Wild Card
    9. ...and a close up of the label. Incidentally, following up on your suggestion, I contacted RR and he agreed that this arrangement, though not completely consistent with regulations, would not be improper (pardon the double negative) for one of the several 1909 merit cross awards with swords made to the Schutztruppen who served in Africa.
    10. Great stuff Sergey, thank you for sharing it with us.
    11. Finally, I may have missed it, but I don’t think that we have had a commander’s star yet.
    12. We have seen some merit crosses to the Henry Lion Order; but I do not think that we have had any with swords yet, so...
    13. Along with the war merit cross there was the military merit cross which was established on 18 August 1914. Although it has been determined that 25 were produced in October of 1914, there does not seem to be any evidence of actual awards.
