    1. Heinrich Sheuch was awarded the commander 2nd class of the Swedish order of the sword on 20 October 1912.
    2. What would you guess an unissued piece would sell for at an auction?
    3. I believe it’s almost impossible to put a value on such a piece. But if I would guess I think it would go for over 30 000 € in an auction. But I guess it all depends on how much the bidders want it. Can we see a picture of it?
    4. Hello! Are you buying or selling? Is it a complete set? with cross? Breast star? Document? Since only nine were manufactured and only four ever awarded so the price between issued and unissued is huge. As far as I know there is atleast one of the awarded crosses on the private market. Is yours issued or unissued?
    5. Hello! You should probably post this in the Spain forum instead of in northern europe. Btw, I have nerver seen this variant before. Is it possible that it nice had enamel that has been removed by someone?
    6. You´re right, it´s only thorn. First I thought that he was wearing some weird variation of the tank-destroyer badge since he´s standing next to the anti-tank rifle. But it didn´t look right. The badge is white with a black tank on it (for those who didn´t know).
    7. Is he wearing a badge on his arm or is it thorn by a bullet or something? Interesting pictures btw!
    8. Amazing work! I would also like to have one on the wall. Perhaps this could be an interesting photo for a later project. Victoria of Baden, Queen of Sweden in uniform and with both medals and pickelhaube.
    9. He got the Sword commander 2nd class on 5 november 1924 to be precise.
    10. Thank you for clearing out that mystery of mine! That would mean that the one I have is a knight 1st class and not a 2nd class! Yes, the old award documents are gorgeous, but the recent ones are to boring! Unfortunately I don´t have any documents for these. Yet…
    11. My favourite piece with a connection to Germany is this medalbar. But my favourite piece in all categories is this Finnish medal. The merit cross of the white wall of Ingria, only awarded twice (2 times!). This one was never awarded and is unfortunately damaged in the enamel.
    12. Here is my small collection of Order of the Holy Lamb from Finland. This is a church order which is awarded for long service to the Finnish church. It consists of seven classes, five orders and two medals. The number of awards are really low so it´s very difficult to find these for sale. Grand cross - 10 awarded Commander 1st class - 26 awarded Commander 2nd class - 23 awarded Knight 1st class - 26 awarded Knight 2nd class - 55 awarded Medal 1st class - 73 awarded Medal 2nd class - 34 awarded The ones I have in my collection so far is commander 2nd class, knight 2nd class and both medals. Does anyone know what the difference is between the two knight classes? I think the only difference between the commander classes is the breast star which goes with 1st class. If anyone know of any for sale, please let me know so I can try to complete my collection!
    13. It is www.holmasto.fi The auction takes place this saturday
    14. Kapitänleutnant Carl Wilhelm von Haxthausen was awarded with the knight 1st class of the swedish order of the Sword on 26 june 1909. If it is of interest with the correct date.
    15. The stamps does not look like swedish stamps to me. Swedish stuff usually have either three crown stamp or a single crown stamp.
    16. I don´t know what the rules are for posting pictures from auctionhouses, but if anyone has any concerns let me know and I´ll delete them. Pictures from Suomen Numismaattisen Yhdistyksen Huutokauppa no 44.
    17. A while ago a Finnish Mannerheim cross 1st class was sold on a auction. The order was manufactured in 8 pieces, 3 numbered and 5 unnumbered. Only two was ever awarded, one to Mannerheim himself (no 1) and the other to general Erik Heinrichs (no 2). This cross was one of the unnumbered and unissued pieces. The sale price was 33 000 € + commission. And no, I am not the lucky buyer. The Mannerheim-crosses are subject to export restrictions and may not leave Finland. And I don´t have that kind of money to spend either. This is probably one of the extremely few times such a rarity is sold at the open market! Once in a lifetime perhaps?
    18. Order number 410 is for sale in a Finnish auction if anyone is interested to know. The same auction also sells a Order of the Polar Star number 492...
    19. You are right. It must be L6 and that would mean 1940. Which is suitable if it´s a winter war award.
    20. It looks like the hallmark on the libertycross is E6? That would mean it´s manufactured 1934 and could therefor suggest a 1918 cross? Since there is no military medals we can assume the recipient was a civilian otherwise there should probably be some military award. And the lack of royal jubilee medals he was probably not working for the royal court. Of course he could have had some neckorder that don´t show up on his miniature bar. He must have been alive later than 1973 since the royal patriotic society medal has Carl XVI Gustaf on it. The last medal is a commemorative medal from Skånska Landtmännens Centralförening 1904-1954. A society that made farmer buy tools, supplies and stuff jointly for a better price. Today there is only one nationwide society called Lantmännen. So he was probably living and working with something related to farming in Skåne (south of Sweden). Strange bar indeed!
    21. Hello! I guess the best would be to create a new topic in the Northern European forum.
    22. Thank you for the information! Much appreciated!
    23. I have contacted one of the people behind medalj.nu and the site will come up again in the future. Hopefully as soon as possible I hope.
    24. My guess is that number 1 is the Swedish order of the sword. See this example sold at a Swedish auction house. https://www.bukowskis.com/sv/lots/832766-svardsorden-kraschan-silver-cf-carlman-stockholm-1910
    25. Thanks guys! The knowledge here is impressive! It´s a bit strange that one of them seem to wear a fez...
