    1. Thanks everyone. Strange... there are no shoulder boards nor are there any provisions for them. No signs that there ever were.
    2. Thanks!! I would love to see closeups reverse of the collar, where the tabs are sewn and one closer of the eagle!! Very nice! Are there any award loops? Regards Paul
    3. Anyone else care to comment? I want to learn something here!
    4. I would like to see that the SS Folks think as well!! It looks the part to me!
    5. Those are so completely amazing!!
    6. I have never seen that type of error before... now the question... which number do you have researched? LOL Very nice small number too!
    7. Thank you for sharing these photos!! They are recording history as few have seen it.

      Japanese ww2 flag

That is a really cool piece, Rob. I wish that I could help you out with the translation. We do have a Japanese member... maybe he can help. I will send him a link. Paul
    11. I dont think that I would toss it. It will have a significantly lower monetary value to collectors, but I THINK that it could be OK. I would have to hold it for me to determine with more certainty either way. Has anyone else seen any known repro insignia(from any organization) made up in this manner?
    12. I have never seen one this badly executed either. Oddly enough, the materials do look to be period... Perhaps a local contract/tailor maker?
    13. Hello!! Welcome to the GMIC. Can you please post a close up of your uncle in the Luftwaffe uniform? I am interested to see that badge on his left lower sleeve. The badge that he is wearing is a "SA" sports badge. The ribbon bar appears to be a Sudatenland Annexation medal with a Prague clasp. You are correct, the lanyard he is wearing is to denote his weapon marksmanship skill!! Regards Paul
    14. Thanks!!! Mine looks more like the Hafner H58, 1932-35 period, as it is rimless!
    15. Thank you for sharing these images. It looks like a great museum to visit. The US has been using mortars since our Revolutionary War (1775?1783)
    16. I have learned a lot since my last entry onto this thread. Basically, a Beamter is a broad description of a non military government servant... right?
    17. I do like the appearance of their uniforms and ribbons!!
    18. Yes, A very nice TENO uniform. These, even in photos, are rare!!
    19. Owain, So is there a way to somewhat date these on an individual basis? I would be interested in knowing what I can about mine. Regards Paul
