    1. Very nice! What years are they? The embroidery looks early to me.
    2. Those are some great pieces of headgear!!! Thank you for posting them.
    3. Very interesting and rare piece of history. Thank you for sharing it with us. What other related items do you have?
    4. Very cool example. It is a shame to see ground dug awards, but this is one I would love to have. Most impressive, shooting down four planes. I only have one KIA order (OGPW1) that posthumously awarded. I've not ever had a recovered item before.
    5. Those are stellar! I am most envious!!!!! I love the 1866-1914 bar. It is strange to not see any 1870-1 involvement though.
    6. This is a most impressive array of BW hat badges. I've never seen most of them before! I really like the heavy embroidered officer versions. Are these still in use today?
    7. Per above- can anyone translate (even roughly) the most recent document above- PLEASE?
    8. Thanks Stogie! It is one of my favorites. A poor man's 19th century NC bar!
    9. Michael! Welcome to the forum. I very much like your BW badges. I have a nice beret to the Franco-German unit and a medic!
    10. I am glad that your grand father-in-law's stuff was able to be preserved together like this. You truly honor his service. I know I must have asked you this before, but did you ever get to meet him in person? Can you please show us what is in the case next to the picture?
    11. This is an amazing bar... but at the time it was made, this man would have been in his 80's, at least!
    12. Chris! I am with you! I would not part with this regardless. I am not a typical US collector, but something as poignant as this is impossible to walk away from. I am so busy with my college work (as well as work, family and etc) that I do not have time to think, but I really want to take some time to research this guy! I bet his story is amazing.
    13. This is a most significant item Chris. I'd say one of the biggest I've seen here on the forum as it relates to American History- esp the Civil Rights movement. I wish I had something of value in trade that you would be interested in....
    14. What kind of paper is it made from? It is about 1.5 hour drive from Kirov!
    15. Thanks Fred. Your cloth collection is awesome! You should start a thread! :-)
    16. I did not know that they stamped in the replacement numbers. I thought they were hand etched as well.
    17. Very interesting... I would have wanted to at least keep a couple.
