      Here is my WW2/Korean War US Coast Guard veteran's medal bar. No valor awards, but he was there.

      You did this man's service a real honor by doing this act of love. I cannot wait to see the other set you rescued. I want to redo this set in this sort of mount and was looking for a step by step tutorial and then I find this... It seems like a complicated process... but it is worth it.

      I am surprised that he joined the West German military coming from Soviet captivity. I would have thought that the Soviets would have let him return to the Eastern side.

      You guys have some great looking bars. When I was a cadet in the CAP back in the 1980s, I saw quite a few of the old style ribbons floating around. We called them Cartoon Ribbons because of all of the imagery/pics on them.

      It is a great looking uniform. Can you post a closeup of the ribbon bar? It looks like there is a Navy Good Conduct Medal on there.

      Look at the traces of paint on the inner rim of the silver part of the EK2. I say that the EK is a fake...

      This is the first time I have ever seen one of these! It is in mint condition too. I wonder how effective they would have been? I think that the visual impediment would have proven to caused more harm than good.

      I do not see these having a large collector base. What I do like about it is the heavy patina and wear. I think it looks good in my opinion.
