    1. I dont know anything about these, but I do like the assembly method. I would like to hear more about this from more experienced members.
    2. Yes! Sometimes, small but dedicated groups are the best! Here is that image. I apologize for taking so long to post it. I will be able to be of better service once the patrol is over. Internet connectivity at sea is VERY bad. This is a beautiful set of tabs. I would love to have them in my collection. Congrats on obtaining them.
    3. Yeah! It was like that when I got mine too. I must have read it a dozen times already. I am getting my money's worth! LOL
    4. Hi Mark, I am sorry for the delay in getting back with you. I have been unable to log in, until today. Please email the photos of what you have and I will post them. You will not be able to post photos of 60Kb or bigger until you have made your first 50 posts. The Double Cheveron is present on many reproductions, but also on originals. Regards Paul
    5. Surely there are more items related to this organization out there!
    6. I have never seen these pipings on a visor before. That would be something to see!
    7. LOL! Leave it to a Sonderfuhrer to have the cords on the wrong side! Great photo though.
    8. I agree! What is funny is that during the war there were 1000s of these! Now, we would be lucky to see 5! Most were stripped down for work clothes after the war. You have a true gem, far rarer than any SS tunic!
    9. Rick, That is a sweet grouping. How difficult are the medals to find?
    10. Magificent medal!! I would hate to think what these go for in the collecting community! Does anyone know? I would be willing to bet that 90% of these have been accounted for in collections or families.
    11. I would love to see some closeups of the insignia and awards! :jumping:
    12. That is one nice document. The condition may be abused, but it is what it is. Here is an example of that medal:
    13. Another page turned in History... May he rest in peace!
    14. I love the medal bar. It does look like they belong together, at least.
    15. Thanks for posting this news! Bundeswehr Master Sgt. Henry Lukacs is presented with the Cross of Honor for Bravery, lower right corner of image, by German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, Germany, Monday, July 6, 2009. Chancellor Angela Merkel was presenting four German soldiers with the new decoration for bravery on Monday, the nation's first such honor since World War II. I decided to post the story and some of the images before they are removed from the Yahoo news site. (
    16. Anything is possible, but the silver pips were generally reserved for NCOs(except for in limited cases). I would think that a doctor with an ego problem would avoid wearing bits and pieces belonging to the "common man". Gold pips were used only by full officers(not supplimentary or Landwehr types). I do have an open mind however...
    17. It is always the innocent looking ones that make the best spies!
    18. LOL! Exactly! There were(if I remember correctly) just over 600 of these guys at any particular time. I am sure that they had a sense of pride belonging to such a selective group of men!
    19. Those berets are wonderful, Claudius! Nice looking kids too. Are they reproducing the orange berets already?
