    1. Here are some new arrivals(relatively), first... Field Division Officer Candidate.
    2. Agreed! Of all of the KM badges, it is my favorite! Nice one you have there! Paul
    3. Nice Gary! Those foreign made tabs have always been of interest! I have seen the Greek made tabs before, yet I have never before seen the French "models". Very impressive Overcoat NCO tabs! I agree with Rick... the ATC tabs are striking! I would love to see a set of these on an untouched tunic!! Paul
    4. Hi Dan, It was not my intention to suggest that you would do anything dishonest. Do dont strike me as that type of person. I am just stating my opinion in regards to collecting. I like to preserve things the way they are. You are correct when you mention "shades" of collectors. I am more on the "purist" side. Regards Paul
    5. They are beautiful! What were they awarded for? Paul
    6. The above pictured medal is indeed a work of art! Do you have any other Cuban medals to share? I have not seen any before. The only Cuban piece of militaria I have seen is the Guards' Badge a veteran gave to me when we picked him up in the Caribbean.
    7. Hi Ed, You might know this one... I heard a rumor that the Iraqi Govt is making medals to give to US service members who participated(ing) in the war. Have you heard anything like this? Paul
    8. Hi Dan, There is no need to feel like an idiot. It is the fault of the criminals who want to take advantage of people who dont have the experience. You definately need to get that book. I have 1,000s of dollars worth of reference books. (I have several collecting fields). Although the McDaniel's book is expensive, how much did you spend on the bad items you have posted here alone? Over time, that 100 dollar book will save you so much more than your intial investment. Before you buy one more item, BUY THE BOOK!
    9. That would have been a perfect match to the medal bar I bought from you some time ago...
    10. Agreed... I came back to state that the combinations are unlikely(except for the middle one)...even impossible in my opinion. Rick(either one) could get into more detail in a more definative and concise manner than I... so I will leave it to them.
    11. That reverse pic was not what I expected... I dont understand why the ribbon would be wrapped in such a manner either.... strange!
    12. You did very well... 100 dollars for such an rare piece of history!! Aside for StG44s and pistols, I have not seen too many weapons with duel Third Reich and DDR markings.... Nice!!! The only duel marked weapon I have is a Finnish captured SVT40! I have a soft spot for these weapons.
    13. Hi Dan! Welcome to the forum. It is a noble idea to try and restore these bars, yet there might not not be too many people here who would encourage disassembling an original medal from a suspension to do so... whether it is a common medal/order or not. A lot of people would view it as destroying a real form of history to create something else(by me anyway). I am sure that if you looked on ebay for long enough, you will be able to find the medals you need being sold without the suspension for a very very inexpensive price. Just my two cents Warm regards Paul
    14. Wow... it started at 26 dollars. Someone thinks it is worth 810 dollars with an hour remaining!!!
    15. Dan, Thank you for sharing those interesting pieces! I have never seen the bells before. I bet that there are not too many around anymore!!!
