    1. Scott, quit selling all those interesting bars! Pierce, I now have that bar with the Maurice and Lazarus.
    2. Hi Bernd, Sorry, I can't post pictures on this site, but it is a bar posted here before, with an odd combination of foreign decorations, including a Beligian Civil award and a Spanish Order of Isabella. I recently got this bar from another member, Noor.
    3. I just received a bar with the SW Africa medal and China medal, both of which have the smaller ribbon suspension ring "fixed" to the medal, instead of loose, which is what I usually find. Can anyone tell me whether this is a variant, or whether all these medals had the two rings "floating" instead of fixed?
    4. Right, Hermann Koehl, who became famous as an "Atlantikflieger" along with von Huenenfeld, I believe.
    5. Gene, I have an EK2 bar with two clasps, courtesy of Heiko. I believe they are private purchase items from Heinrich Timm. Sorry, but I can't post photos on this site.
    6. Good job resurrecting this thread, Chris, it is a really good read. I started collecting 35 years ago, Imperial and Third Reich, then I gave it up to help finance university, then I inherited some really nice family pieces, then I got married and started my own family which ended in divorce. Now I've been collecting again for a few years, and I've gone completely over to Imperial. The variety, the quality, the history - you just can't compare with Third Reich. I'm also not a big fan of AH's shameless use of Prussian iconography for propaganda purposes, as is evidenced by the 1939 Iron Cross. When I see a Knight's Cross, I think "Yeah, that's pretty nice", but my brain doesn't say "Man, I have to have one of those in my collection". That's what happens when I see a nice ordensspange from the Wars of Unification. As for value and investing, I buy only what I like, and sometimes I pay too much, sometimes I get a good deal. But I'm not in it to make a profit.
    7. Very nice group, Chris, from Kaiserreich to Drittes Reich to Bundesrepublik. I particularly like the look of that MVO.
    8. "Hoch soll er leben, hoch soll er leben, dreimal hoch!". Heil dir im Siegerkranz, Majestaet.
    9. If you got this bar from Katrin in Berlin, then you just beat me to it, as I had it in my sights as well.
    10. Although these aren't rare, I find them fascinating. Timo, I have an 1814 like yours, with original ribbon, but I'd like to add a few more. My 3X Great Grandfather got the 1813 for his part in the Voelkerschlacht bei Leipzig, and I have a nice charcoal portrait of him from the 1850's where he is wearing the ribbon in his lapel.
    11. Really great document grouping, as well as medals. From what I can make out, it reads "Fuesilier Friedrich Wilhelm Tuemmel von der 2en Compagnie Brandenburgisches Fuesilier Regiment No. 35".
    12. Right Timo, "mit scharfkantigen Armen" like yours means from the Berlin mint, late 1814, whereas Micha's has "geraden Armen" and is from the earlier Paris striking, if I have this correct. I really like these medals as well. Micha, let me know if you are selling yours......
    13. Nice, you don't see a lot of the 50 year Treudienst Ehrenzeichen around.
    14. Scott, I was looking at this one as well, but I think the combo is pretty much impossible.
    15. Great badges Ferg. What strikes me is the difference between the "landscapes" of the Juncker badges compared to the Meybauer marked one.
    16. Wow, that is unusual, Andreas. That went to Barry at eMedals, did it not?
