    1. Does any of the Gentlemen recognize this location? It is not Nürnberg. (do I see Charlie Chaplin hiding behind AH?)
    2. From a legacy of documents from a female RAD member 1939-1945, a 1938 type of Leistungsbescheinigung (Certificate of proficiency) as issued by the DAF/Deutsche Stenografenschaft. This document was issued to a BDM girl before entering the RADwJ. She was not member of the Deutsche Stenografenschaft, but obviously the organisation conducted trainingship for elder girls. From the Arbeitsbuch of the girl and a Letter of Conduct, it becomes evident that after her obligatory RADwJ service, she fulfilled her half a year's War Service as a steno-typist with the Army Ammunition Dump in Münster.
    3. Not much activity here lately, so what is your opinion about this item? diam. 24.5 mm
    4. Recently I added this photo to my collection, in which Italy is under-representated. Obviously it is a Machine Gunner, but what about his shoulder boards? Can any of the gentlemen give more details to this photo?
    5. That is a very nice photo of a Naval technical official, thanks for sharing Morten
    6. In the British magazine "Medal News" of 2004, June/July, pages 14-15 an article was published about the recognition of fake ACE Stars.
    7. Korvettenkapitän a.D. Otto Hersing (1885-1960) (in WW1 Kdt. U21) who served in the Kaiserliche-, Reichs- und Kriegsmarine. Shown in KM uniform with his old style dirk. His ODM are: PlM; EK1&2; SA4; HH; ÖMT3; ÖEK3; TgM; TVM; TEH (Turkish War Medal); U-Boat badge
    8. Bavarian Train-Bat. did wear Tschakos for a long time, note this uniform table from 1905
    9. I think you are mistaking Jerry, it is a Warrant Officer III The Warrant Officers (WO's) wear their badges of rank on both lower sleeves. I was told by an old WO2 that the WO3 were made obsolete in about 1942, the obsolete crowns were issued to the Staff Sergeants to wear over their 3 chevrons, as can also be seen in many photos of those days. Enclosed a page from a 1943 booklet containing insignia of the British Army, Navy, R.A.F. and Auxialiaries.
    10. Nice family portrait Martin. Can you please share a detailed pic of the woman's circular closing pin?
    11. Well, that's an impressive career Jerome, thank you very much for this information!
    12. I've recently arrested this very very rare postcard, from the VDA series "Blutadel aller Welt", the Nr.66 "Friesischer Bauer" Another good catch was this postcard, edited by Verlag Dr. Franz Vogtmann, in Berlin, Series: "Ehret die Arbeit" at the RAD exhibition in Prague (1944), an "Arbeitsmaid - nach einer Zeichnung von Ernst Wichert"
    13. Not quite a Police man, but one of the Corps of Commissionairs with some nice Military Service pinned to his chest Sudan & South Africa)
    14. I am inclined to suggest this is supposed to be Horatio Nelson, either a fency dress masquerade or a mannequin. The uniform is around 1800 and certainly not Crimean War.
