dond Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Here's a medal bar that I picked up a while back. It is really sad to see a guy's life hacked apart......
dond Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 After a little cleaning and finding a few bits and bobs the bar lives again.
joe campbell Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 job well done! still quite worn, but the before and after pix are great! joe
M Hunter Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Great work Don. You have given this medal bar a new lease of life! Best wishes Matt
Deruelle Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Congrats Don nice to see that you have found medals to complete this nice bar. Christophe
Claudio Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Beautiful restoration work! Way to go... ;-)
Paul C Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 That is an extremely interesting bar. It is clearly a bar to a Saxon non-officier so what the heck is the Bayern Jubillee doing on it. I am not saying it is wrong, it is just very odd.
dond Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 That medal was still attached to the bar and attached exactly like the others that were still on it when I acquired it. You can see the same bluish material on several of the other awards.
ostprussenmann_new Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Very Nice job. How wonderful to complete your bar.
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Here is a thought... Maybe this was his pre Hindie bar? When he got the Ehrenkreuz in the early 30s he had some loose stuff and this bar, and they took off what they needed to make up his 3rd reich Bar?
