Deruelle Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 What a beauty Do you have the diploma with this medal bar ?regardsChristophe
Mark M Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Nothing as spectacular as Kronenorden's bar but this ribbon bar just arrived. I am curious about the blue and white ribbon after the Reuss. It looks like a Finnish Medal of Liberty 1st class. However, it appears to have had some type of device pinned to it and I am not aware of this award having any. Any suggestions? Kronenorden Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Hi Deruelle, no, I do not have a document to the medal bar.Hello Mark M, I think it is the Hungarian war thinking coin 1914-1918 to 5th place (pic) and a unknown Bavarian award to 4th place.
Mark M Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 KronenordenYou are correct on the last ribbon. I agree that the colors look like it is a Bavarian award but I could not find any that match. The closest Bavarian match would be a long service award but the blue is different. It does however look like the Finnish Medal of Liberty 1st class (pictured below, 3rd award). However, no ribbon bar device was worn on this ribbon that I know of.By the way, spectacular Reuss bar! Should you ever wish to part with it......Regards,Mark[attachmentid=45829]
Kronenorden Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 I can understand you well ... A rare piece. Further beautiful piece. New and a variant still on it.
Kronenorden Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 I think your bavarian Ribbon is one of the long service Medal 3. Class for 9 years. (pic)
Mark M Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 KronenordenI thought the LS ribbon for Bavaria had two white stipes, not one? Also, it would not explain why it had some type of device pinned to the ribbon.Regards,Mark[attachmentid=45837]
Blitz Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Thanks for sharing that medallbar Kronenorden, you can never see enough of those..
Kronenorden Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Yes, I think you are right, I have a photo with a wrong ribbon there. Regards,Kronenorden
KeithB Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 I bought a WWI photo-CD off of eBay. A couple of photos on the CD seemed like they would fit in with this thread nicely.First:
KeithB Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 But better yet:The number of the regiment on the shoulder straps in 96 which I guess is the proper Russ IR.
