When you look at the backside of this simple medal it dosn´t look very exciting ...

Finnish Medal for Courage 2nd class , Winter war 1939 , awarded 115 842 times. Well well, but when you turn it around :)

This one is the one with Red Cross awarded to Nurses most and possible some Pte Medic , awarded 241 ! times

a rare one for sure

Here is some better pics and together with its family

First pic shows top row : 1918 2nd class , 1939 2nd class 1941 2nd class 1939 Red Cross  1941 Red Cross

second row   1918  1st class   1939 1 st class  1941 1 st class   1941 Red Cross

Now I have to hunt for a 1939 1st Class Red Cross ( 54 awarded ) :):)

As with medals of a lot of countries, the difference is in the small details.

Good luck with your quest.

Are the Red crosses part of the stamping or added by the factory?

The Red Cross is part of the satamping, so they are made from different tools then the " normal" ones
