    1. I don't know the number awarded. I do know they are very, very hard to find. Especially in nice clean condition like this one of yours.
    2. I think for 60K it darn well better be..... I am surprised that all these medals are loose. Did he have a mounted medal bar/ribbon bars that have ended up someplace else?
    3. Thanks! I've owned many a fourth class over the years but could not remember all the details!
    4. Varies by Maker. I think Lesser did this thicker lower edge varient. Maker marks/content marks for silver are usually found on the back of the swords. The bar on eBay from California was just auctioned off in Germany. Now it's for sale with a reserve in California. 10-Place bar?
    5. Hi Marc, the best advice I cangive on distinguishing these many, many copies circulating would be to visit Andreas Shulze-Ising's informative website. medalnet.com. Click on the link for "various articles. there's two very good articles regarding the typology of known original crosses. If the cross does not match the ones shown, it's a copy.
    6. Nice set with the 2 Finnish medals. I especially like the matching mini chain and ribbon bar!
    7. Uh-Huh... that's what the add says. Nice images, feel free to place them in your files... Under..... COPY
    8. It's a shame that medal bar & ribbon bar collecting has come to this stage. Very sad indeed.
    9. I think the Cuban combined Arms Badges are Russian made, They're identical other than instead of a star, they have a tiny Cuban shield.
    10. I would agree. Nice, original issue badge, in remarkably good condition. Congratulations Timo!
    11. Very nice and very interesting. We see many different eras of manufacture on the bar. Thanks!
    12. That's strange. I am surprised they did not copy the Soviet model of record-keeping!!
    13. Those are two of the nicest bars I have seen in awhile. I think the more the fakers flood the markets, the more we will look for bars like this that show wear and use and cleaning and age. there's things that can be faked, and some that can only be tried to fake. Nice bars.
    14. Final example, cased Saxon Officer's Long Service Cross. Is it 100% correct on your piece? No. BUT, depending on the price and your individual tastes, it did happen, even from the jeweler.... It will be very, very hard to find this ribbon...
