Hi Stogie since the covid, there has been frustration among collectors. They could not meet, trade and buy. As soon as an auction appeared, there was a buying frenzy. This was confirmed in the sales at Küncker and Thies in 2020-2021. Some pieces that could be bought for 600 euros, went for 1500 euros plus expenses! Some collectors accumulate. I have already explained this example. A collector accumulated Feldbinde by having 3, 4 or even 5 identical belts. Just in case? He bought at crazy prices and broke the market. Today, the smallest officer's belt in France sells for no less than 400 euros. Where I bought mine for 150 euros. What can I say about this frenzy. Will it go down? I don't think so. It is necessary to hunt and to be patient and also to have a good reserve of money. Christophe

Hello Collecting today has become, in my opinion, more a matter of an agent than a passion. Yes, our hobby is expensive, yes, we like it. But not at any price. For example, a knight's cross ^1st class with swords of the Albert of Saxony order normally costs 650 700 euros in good condition. But now on the market people buy them for more than 1200 euros. So much the better for the seller, but why such a surge in price? Is it the rarity of the pieces? yes and no. Personally, I'm not looking for big pieces anymore, I'm just looking for small items to see my collection grow. I don't find many of them now, so I save money. This is my very personal point of view Christophe

Hello, Reading the Dresdner Nachrichten, I see that one Vizefeldwebel received the Friedrich August medal in silver with ribbon of the St Henry medal. His name Paul Engelmann from GR 100. He received EK2 with his Friedrich August medal in silver. Someone has ever heard something about that. To be honest it is the first time for me.
