The Korporal stars were made either of white bone or Celluloid ,the Oberleutnant ones were metallic ones either Gold or Silver according to button colour . the cords of the Pelzulanka were different too, for officers they were gold interwoven with black , for NCOs and troopers were the shorter field grey the longer yellow and black -

Hello Tony , I am well thank you ! hope you too . a few more tips : first the cut of the different pieces of cloth to form the coat, appears correct pattern that is many pieces to spare cloth and to fit better to the body of the wearer. second ,the white piping appears to be made of twisted cotton cord on the right false pocket thats right ,finally ,what about the inner lining and the stuff over the shoulders ? -
UNKOWN NAVY UNIFORM
Bayern replied to Antonio Prieto's topic in Rest of the World: Militaria & History
I believe that its Spanish . the South Americans Navies tended to the use of British Style Uniforms . the Spanish Armada was nearly the only to use Blue and Red ,apart the goldened Serreta on the cuffs over three eight pointed stars points to Spain. -

Hello Farkas , Perplexity ,I suggest you a little ,how to say ? forensic research , the lace must be made of cotton thread ,i am looking at least part of the lace with a glossy appareance suspicious of rayon content ,the red cloth is key also it must be wool made , the colour appears too good preserved , but that could be for a number of reasons ,ditto for the yellow cuffs . En Fin , Good Luck ! -

Gentlemen, Italy was allied with Great Britain in WW1 and a British Army Corps served in Italy against the Austrians under the Earl of Cavan .after the War Italy remained in good terms with Great Britain , by other way many British choosed Italy as place of retirement or holiday including probably ex Servicemen . Dino Grandi count Mordano was a ex Italian officer in WW1 (Alpino ) and a fascist & Diplomatic . he was Anglophile -
Hello ,The badge bears the K for Emperor Charles . Charles was Emperor after the death of Emperor Francis Joseph in November of 1916, then the bage was made from December 1916 until November 1918 . By other part all the Gentlemen speaks of a Russian but forgets a possible Galician Popov , Galitzia and Lodomeria were a Crown land of the Empire and their inhabitants were Polish and Ucrainans and Ucrainans used Cyrillic Alphabet . Finally , Why not a Bulgarian Popov ,after all Austria Hungary and Bulgaria were closer and in 1915 ,Allies

Hello RedNoseScout , the German Luftstreitkrraft , used during WW1 basically two types of Parachute . one the so called Korbfallschirm , Basket Parachute , for captive balloons observers and the Heinecke Parachute for pilots and observers of Airplanes . the Basket Parachute was called Paulus Parachute for the designer Khate Paulus a well known German Balloon Flyer and Jumper , she designed and used before WW1 the first pliable and secure parachute. she made 165 jumps from a Balloon . The Heinecke was designed By Unteroffizier Otto Heinecke , ground crew in the third feldflieger Abteilung and was distributed in the year 1918, it weights 30 pounds and was rather bulky but adequately safe . it was of the static line type. if you want more info ,enter in the web Khate Paulus , and Heinecke parachute

During november 1990 I went to a great exposition about the German Unification in 1871 and ..Bismarck .among the many exhibits were a uniform that belonged to the Prince including a pair of his riding boots of the old Kurassier type ( Stulpstiefeln ) that is reaching over the knees in the front and the back . I feel impressed by the size of the boots and it height
