Hello , The creator of the Arab Legion was the then Lt Colonel Frederick Peake. he was commisioned from the Imperial Camel Corps to inspect the security in Palestine.in 1920 he was ordered to recruit two forces , totalling about 150 men .during 1921 22 he formed the Reserve Mobile Force origin of the Arab Legion . Peakes Pasha rose to the rank of Jordanian Lieut, General . he was born in 1886 and died in 1970. The TJFF was created in 1926 with cadres drawn from the Legion . Sir John Bagot Glubb ,took command of the Legion in 1939 and transformed it in a military force worth of consideration and not only a security force o cope with internal unrest. King Abdullah I first emir and King of Transjordan , now Jordan, used to wear military uniform in public appareances . sometimes he weared the kalpak as headgear. Since 1921 existed a body of the King Personal Bodyguards integrated by Circassians who wears the kalpak and a Cossack type tunic .

Hello tony, The French Chasseurs a pied and Chasseurs alpins, used the uniform showed during almost all WW1, sometimes mixed with bleu horizon pieces. more,they went to the battlefiel in 1940 still with a mix of blue and khaki. they used mattblack painted Adrian helmets. today they used a Parade uniform that is blue .

    5. Tony ,Dark blue near black was current before the war, inclusive in officers and NCOs kepis.the sidecaps post 1942 tended to represent the arm or branch of service as exactly as the old kepi. the burgundy red piping on a blue body could belongs to a medical of the colonial infantry.

Hello tony, USA made and supplied. thats clear but which Free French unit ? please, what colour is the piping? in the pics its not very clear.the Free Frenchs after the landings in North Africa begins to be supplied with USA made uniforms.the sidecaps were the most french item of uniform . and of a great variety.

Hello, The Hussar, could be a Spanish one , of Pavia Regiment, red dolman with silver cords .light blue pelisse and breeches with silver braids. three stars on the cuffs also in silver and the thick silver lace above in form of hungarian knot indicaes the rank of colonel. as the man looks young ,probably he is a member of a Royal House. either the Spanish or other. the date ,between 1890 and 1910 Regarding the Guardsman, the sentry carries what appears to be a Snider carbine used between 1866 and 1871 in Home Regiments and until 1901 in India .
    10. By the braid on his collar he belongs to the Jaeger zu Pferde. rank ,Leutnant , and regiment ,the 13th . this unit was formed in 1913 and garrisoned in Saarlouis. their facing colour was dark blue. the man on the photo wears a modified Jager Zu Pferde Tunic.
    11. Buellmeister, The man also wears leather patched breeches, I venture foot Artillery because of the brandenburg cuffs . Field Artillery, Train and Dragoons have swedish cuffs

The Freikorper has not much in common with the SA recruited initially among peacekeepers of Beer Halls or Taverns. dont forget that the Stahlhelm of true war veterans was about 500000 members , and preceded the SA . The Socialist counterpart ,the Reichsbanner Shwarz Gold Rot ,created after the November Putsch was about 250000 members.

Chris , Yes, the swallow nests were for all musicians the sme pattern . with independence of the instrument they played ,the musicians were called Hoboist ,Infantry and Navy, Trompeter in Cavalry and Artilley ; Waldhornist in Jaegers and Hornist into pioneers. the Stabs musicians ranking as Feldwebels carried Swallow nests with a 5 cm long gold or silver fringe below.

    18. Chris , The collar Litze appears to be over a black patch . apart, is a single litze and not a double one .probably he is a pioneer or a telegraphist , or a flieger ,bavarian of course
