    1. What percentage of these have you seen engraved in this manner? I am sure they are super rare, but are they are rare as I am thinking?
    2. Here is that image. Surgeon Manley earned the EK2 as a British Surgeon in the Franco-Prussian War!!! It is awesome to see this being worn with the VC. This image made my day. Thank you.
    3. I am looking for a basic St Helena medal. I know that there were over 400,000 issued back in the day. What is a fair price for this medal?
    4. Stephen, Thank you for sharing that wonderful grouping. Does the good conduct medal have his name engraved on the back?
    5. Was there some sort of insulation in the wall to keep the food warm, or was it just air between the walls?
    6. Wonderful portraits. I hope they all survived the war... When you get a moment, I would love to see the beamter photos in a different thread.
    7. I remembered it being bounced around a few years ago. I did not see how it ended. Great to see that there was final resolution.
    8. So if I am reading this correctly, most folks wounded early during WW1 could receive the EK2 and when the WB came out in 1918, they would automatically receive the badge retroatively?
    9. That is an one of a kind collection. Did the Germans really use these to make field wear Knights Crosses?
    10. Larry, those are some amazing photos. I do have a question, do you have any LW Beamte photos?
    11. Agreed in regard to the bad design. Pretty sad... I think that one of our cooler looking medals is the most common and under appreciated National Defense Service Medal, with the Republican(not the US political party) looking eagle.
    12. I had no idea that the process to make these medals was so involved.
    13. I have never heard of this happening as well. It is great to learn new things. Sad story behind the officer who shot himself. I wonder what brought that on?
    14. That is a great looking photo. The uniform for the man on the right looks pristine. Are these all NCOs? I cannot really tell.
    15. I dont know if I buy the part of him drinking with German Infantry officers in his full dress Marine uniform.
    16. I love this group. As Chris state, documents would tie it together perfectly. At least the ribbon bars are there.
    17. Very attractive display. I really enjoy the early medals, such as the Russo-Japanese war and early China wars.
    18. It is interesting, but I am concerned about the award order as well. Too many "what ifs." As a side note, is it possible that a Korean American could have gone back to Korean after WW2 to fight for his home country against the communists?
