    1. I like the core on that one. You can't get enough 1870 EK's.
    2. I for some reason cannot post photos on this site, but I can send scans if someone would like to post for me. His name is Leutnant Robert Strey, two victories over Macedonia with Jasta 25. I have several items belonging to him, and am in the process of trying to secure his silver Ehrenbecher.
    3. Great piece Ferg, one on my want list for sure. I recently picked up a nice Flieger-Erinnerungsabzeichen with provenance to a two-victory member of Jasta Boelcke.
    4. Ferg, I had a Bavarian pilot badge in this case, which was also engraved, many years ago. It was marked with the two variants on the spelling as well. Makes for confusion.
    5. I think I can find some space in one of my cases, if things don't work out.....
    6. Jon, that's a crop of a famous series of stills showing Luetzow, Balthasar and Egon Troha. My uncle stood in for Balthasar and led III. Gruppe during September 1940, when Balthasar was wounded. Troha took over the 9. Staffel from my uncle on October 1, 1940.
    7. My grandfather also had a bar made for where he was wounded, Dixmude.
    8. My grandfather also had a bar made for where he was wounded, Dixmude.
    9. Nice, my grandfather and his two brothers were all "Kriegsfreiwilliger" when they joined the 5. GRzF in August, 1914.
    10. Sandro, those are some of the nicest Pickelhauben I've ever seen, congratulations. And the Prinz Max von Baden tunic, unbelievable historical piece.
    11. Nice badge and agreed, it looks way too fresh. Could you recommend a dealer for Imperial flight badges, specifically Bavarian?
    12. Thanks, Eric, this is why I frequent this site. I learn something new almost daily.
    13. Pardon my ignorance, but is this not a converted second class? I've never seen a first class with the reverse of a second class.
    14. Thanks guys. Alex, I have doubts about the "Erinnerungs-Abzeichen" document, which if I'm right, should say "Flieger" somewhere, and for some reason the von Hoeppner signature looks too fresh.
    15. I used to have a collar patch from one of these Johanniter uniforms, red with a nice bronze mini of the cross.
    16. Gentlemen, I noticed a group of documents being offered by website Der Rittmeister concerning a Hauptmann Hermann Krueger, CO of FFA 41. I haven't dealt with this dealer, and can find no information on this flyer. Can anyone shed any light on his career, or the documents in question?
    17. This is a very depressing story. Right now I'm in the process of trying to keep together a group from a WW1 pilot. It's costing more than I can afford, but I can't stand seeing the items scattered to the winds like this nice spange was.
    18. Beautiful award, I'd say one of the nicest Imperial awards, and at the top of my want list.
