Who knows? Adolf v.S. was already a Lt at the outbreak of the war. A Württemberg Cross of Merit would have been awarded to an NCO type, so it is simply impossible that he's got one. Best, Daniel

Goodness, Claudio... Thats the normal jubilee medal which EVERY active Officer got... The painter was not overly careful. I am very sure, no bavarian would leave away his homeland jubilee medal but wear a foreign centenary medal. Best, Daniel

Hi Twin, the publishing date in the Staatsanzeiger was the 07th. September 1918. The Staatsanzeiger was always a bit faster than the Militärwochenblatt. So he's got it alive and most likely already end of August. :-) Best, Daniel

Hello friends, It seems there was a need for Tamara ribbons in germany in the 20ies and 30ies. This is from the stock of a well known German outfitter. 27mm, 15mm and 9mm Tamara ribbons. Funny enough, Mr. G. sorted these among "Russia", Best, Daniel

Hello Friends, As I sm a ribbon bar freak too, I would like to show you one of my favourites. It is a Godet made piece and was worn by Colonel Christian von Pentz, son-in-law of Field Marshal von Hindenburg. In WW1, the then-Rittmeister von Pentz served as Hindenburgs Adjutant. Best, Daniel

Wow! Never heard of posthumous awards like that! Will check if I have anything more about him. I think it is possible, that the award was already done as he was still alive but the procedure took too long that that nice cross reached him in lifetime. BTW, 117 and 118 were both Hessen regiments and in the very same brigade, so a transfer was quite thinkable. Best, Daniel

@Gunnar, do You refer to Fischer or to Ammon? In my files I do not have an Albrecht for Ammon, but I have some "suspects" units for Mr. Fischer. Best, Daniel

Its Karl Will. He commanded 2nd Reiter Regiment in the early 30ies. 3rd Ribbon is the Hamburg Hanseatic cross. Plain red is the Franz Joseph knight. Best, Daniel
