Scott Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 (edited) Correct Wessel. An ordinary NSDAP party pin would not be allowed; but the Gold Party Badge was an official award for significant contributions to the party. Note it's precidence above the Iron Cross 1st Class.ScottPS: Nice photos! Edited March 14, 2008 by Scott
Guest Rick Research Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 No names on the backs of those GPB holders' photos?Ordinary Party pins were allowed--indeed, required--on PARTY uniforms, but not allowed on Wehrmacht ones. The difference is the Gold Party Badge's status as an official decoration.
TerryG Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 No names on the backs of those GPB holders' photos? No such luck!
Paul R Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 A new arrival. A GPB above the EK1!I would love to know the branch color of the portrait of the officer with the LW Ground Combat badge!!
Scott Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 (edited) More great photos. Love the 'cut-out' WWI wound bage on the last one, and it looks like his EKI may have burnished highlights on the core.Scott Edited March 19, 2008 by Scott
TerryG Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 (edited) Here's a close up. This is the best I can get. Edited March 20, 2008 by TerryG
ERIC Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Great shots of the Luft personnel wearing the GPB Terry - you don't often encounter that on Luftwaffe men.ERIC
DanEMS Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Just picked up these twoThe first guy looks like has sewn on the eagle the wrong way
nesredep Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Hello!Nice find, congratulation and thanks for showing. All the best Nesredep
Wessel Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I've posted this one on the 'Administration' thread but just for continuity I'll pop it on here as well!
norwest78 Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 (edited) As you can see, I like air gunners! Edited May 30, 2008 by norwest78
Stijn David Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Hello,@ Wessel: great picture => that officer is wearing the bullion version of the Silver C profiency badge. I am working on a book about the silver C profiency badge, will contact you about it Cordial greetings,
Scott Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 I noticed the "super C" glider patch as well - would like to have one of those. The guy in the lower photo of post #141 looks like a young Kirk Douglas (the actor) - he's wearing his LW qualification badge above his EK1...
Wessel Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Wonderful pictures, thanks for posting. The third picture shows an interesting tunic...almost a light weight cloth, or is it the photo?
nesredep Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Hello!Amazing Photos, nice uniforms and badge. Thanks for sharing. All the best Nesredep
Mike H Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Not Luftwaffe, but ...Erich Homburg. PLM winner. Mike Heuer
Mike H Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 (edited) One of my favorite group pictures, this one was taken by a studio in Magdeburg. Some of the Luftwaffe "old guard". Note several PLM winners and also those wearing the Richtofen commemorative cufftitles. Bruno Loerzer in the middle.A pity I can't run this larger -- it has amazing quality, clarity, and detail.Mike Edited June 1, 2008 by Mike Heuer
Wessel Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Mike...what is the award that Erich Homburg is wearing with the static swastika and what looks like a crown at the top? Never seen that one before!
