christerd Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 When you look at the backside of this simple medal it dosn´t look very exciting ... Finnish Medal for Courage 2nd class , Winter war 1939 , awarded 115 842 times. Well well, but when you turn it around This one is the one with Red Cross awarded to Nurses most and possible some Pte Medic , awarded 241 ! times a rare one for sure Christer

Herman Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 As with medals of a lot of countries, the difference is in the small details. Good luck with your quest. Herman
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Are the Red crosses part of the stamping or added by the factory?

It wasn´t until 1939 they made special dies with the red cross integrated in the medal. The 1918 medals with red cross seem to be almost impossible to find for sale. I have only seen one VM2 for sale since I started collecting.
