JohanH Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 The Order of Merit of the Prussian Crown that was awarded to Swedish prime minister Arvid Lindman was sold today in auction for 370 000 SEK which is about 36 000 € plus 22,5% commission. Apparently only 57 ever awarded! See the beautiful pictures here: https://prob.auction2000.se/auk/w.object?inC=PROB&inA=20200526_1458&inO=446 3
BlackcowboyBS Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 I am getting a virus warning, if I try to open this page! You may want to check this link?
JohanH Posted November 16, 2020 Author Posted November 16, 2020 Strange, I don't get any warning and it's a well known auction house. You may try to go the long way and go to www.probusauktioner.se and click on "catalogue 35...." in the top right and then "samtliga utrop" and the orders are on page 10.
Great Dane Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Link works fine for me (and I have a 'hysterical' defense system).
Utgardloki Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Thanks for sharing, I did not have this auction at sight. What a beautiful piece. The craftmanship done in absolute perfection here.
1812 Overture Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 I can open it too, there is no virus prompt, but I can’t see any pictures (pretend to be happy)

922F Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 Are sash yellow stripes of a somewhat metallic appearance?
CRBeery Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 They look like they may be metallic. Here is a closeup.
Utgardloki Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 (edited) Some other pictures i saved from somewhere and have in my digital archive: (I think this display is from Klingbeils Collection) (Wilhelm II wearing it around the neck, one of my favourite photos of him; he is also casually wearing his Spanish fleece like it is an austrian ?) (The one from the DHM that hasn't been stolen) Edited November 26, 2020 by Utgardloki
922F Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 Thank you, CMBerry, for the sash info/pix! Looks like the DHM example above has a very badly faded sash...
Utgardloki Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Fantanstic ? Here is Walter von Loë wearing it also around the neck (There has to be a better version of this painting)
VtwinVince Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Holy cow Wild Card, more details please on that one.
Utgardloki Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 (edited) I have vague memories seeing the Kleindekoration in an auction catalogue... Here is another one (a silver gilded one): Edited November 28, 2020 by Utgardloki
Wild Card Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Hi VtwinVince, I apologize for this late acknowledgment, but have been experiencing problems posting - let's hope that this works. Obviously, the piece that I posted is a Merit Order of the Prussian Crown, Kleindekoration. I can only tell you that it is silver gilt (not gold which is not a problem) and came from the collection of Mr. Carsten Klingbeil. Further, it is illustrated in Thies/Kiligbeil Band 3,, located at seite 46, #1494. Below (I hope) is a view of the reverse. Regards, Wild Card
VtwinVince Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Thanks Wild Card, and I am familiar with the Klingbeil collection. Super piece!
