    1. Hi, what is the one bottom right with the EK? Thanks Chris
    2. Ooooops... we missed the 21st! Is there any reason WHY the different Korps seemingly made up their own objectives? One would have thought these had carefully been thought out. Best Chris
    3. Fantastic! Never in a million years could I do anything like that!
    4. VERY, VERY interesting! Have never seen one like that before!
    5. You are in the right place here... If anyone can help, it will be Rick... Can we see the back?
    6. Maybe its just because GBP85 sounds so little nowdays when you live on Euro ;-)
    7. Seems being a Hilfskreuzer Captain immediately got you awards by every German state.... They all seemed to have them... Why not other ships captains?
    8. The pics are not the best, but the cross looks OK from what I see.
    9. OK, a bit of googling here... it seems there is a possibility/Probability, that he was not captured in GSWA but in one of the other German colonies. Fort napier seems to have been for German prisonners from all over Africa. More to be looked for....
    10. James, maybe not... EUR95 seems to be an across the board price for a good militaria book. Most of the German ones are more in fact.... EUR95 was GBP60... now GBP85... In 2 months this book could cost GBP95, without the actual price of the book changing at all.... I think you are suffering from the Peso-ization of the pound... perception is products from overseas become more expensive... but actually it has more to do with the pound being worth less.
    11. Seems to have been a treasure for all of 10 months then. Original to the group was a dogtag, medal bar, DKiG, EK1 with broken pin, Repaired Bronze panzer with no hook, award docs with a photo of the man in the Sports badge book, a book about the campaign in Greece... :-(
    12. :-(( I sold it to a collector who promised to treasure and respect it. I would be interested in who sold it to Detlev. I dont think Niemann would have gone to the trouble, like most dealers he sometimes splits groups for an easy sale, not "Add" to them. This is not only a historical sin, but a big stupidity on the seller. He must have known that the internet is small, that either here or on WAF someone would have noticed this. If it was the guy I sold it to... I urinate in his Pasta!
    13. How about a thread with detailed shoulder board devices? Would be a good learing experiance, for me at least....
    14. Hi, Nice devices Claudius! I am sure Robin l would kill for the skull. I must admit the whole thread has been an education for me. I have never occupied myself with Litzen and shoulder boards before. Begin to find them kinda cool though....
    15. Northern and Southern Africa in 1880-1881.... A great diary and award document for the Tunisian campaign and an account of the battle at Bronkhorst Spruit. Your chance to learn something a bit different before the bombastic new German update coming this week! http://www.kaiserscross.com/152301.html
    16. Ooooohhhh.... dipping and plating... folks should get their collectors license taken away for that. Polishing however... I dont see that as a shooting offense. If I buy a gunky dirty group I usually give it a polish before letting it develop a natural patina. (I actually like silver when it begins to go a bit dark...)
    17. maybe the belt buckle guys can help?
    18. The quality of the die/Stamping seems to be very good. Not the worse looking medal we have seen in the last decade....
    19. I need a pic of a nice Victorian DCM (Front and back if possible) as would have been awarded in 1880 for an article... Can anyone provide the goods? If possible scanned on a black background. Thanks Chris
    20. Hmmmm.... I would rather save my money and wait for a different one......
    21. So.... any more crazy, crazy Luftwaffe people out there with pics to show?
    22. Any more pilot groupies out there? The calender shot idea with the doc was really cool indeed!
    23. Hmmmm... a bit of a disappointment.... When I saw the title of this I was expecting Goerings OWN uniform, about the size of the pup tent...... ;-)
    24. Thats pretty close to what I thought of as well.... but there must also be an Olde English Word from back then .... "Maiden" or something along those lines....?
