      It is too good of condition to have been outside for more than a couple of years. Hopefully the bodies were exhumed and send back home or provided more permanent markers.... again, I hope.

      Early stuff was used throughout the war. I think that a pre-war early eagle would be nice, but any eagle is possible.

      Wow! They are multiplying like rabbits in a berry patch(although rabbits multiply much faster than 43 years). Beautiful focus Robin. Was the Westwall considered to be a campaign medal of sorts, for the Western Front?

      I would see him as a civil engineer, perhaps in charge the design of buildings, air strips, or other facilities.
