    1. That's a tough call without having it in hand. The combo is certainly possible, and the medals all look real. The backing is a little weird. Both the RAO and KO are early types, which is cool.
    2. Holy cow. I missed an early badge by Hossauer that came up on ebay a couple years ago. It was missing the medallions, but went really cheap. Still cursing myself.
    3. Blood Order ribbon was always worn in the buttonhole of the right breast pocket, no?
    4. Paul, I have no info on the guy other than last name, and that he died in 1896. I wish I could have gotten the whole group with documents. Glenn, that sounds like a possible match, thanks for looking through the lists.
    5. Paul, you do have a point there, if you know the history of the Bad Ems dispatch. Anyway, here is a medal bar from Oberleutnant Mueller of the Feldartillerie. I like this one because the guy died in 1896, so no bars or oakleaves or Centenary Medal to mess it up. I also like the old style back without cloth. Unfortunately, I only got the bar, the award medals and documents wound up with a collector in Bavaria who actually called me to try and get the bar, but we couldn't come to terms. If anyone has more info on Mueller, I'd love to hear it.
    6. Na Rudi, das Ding ist doch wirklich ein 'Weihnachtsbaum', ehrlich gesagt eine Hammer-Schnalle. Frohes Fest.
    7. Are there any markings on the outside of the lid?
    8. Nice one. I really like the 'battered and bruised' stuff. I have a Prussian Crown Order 2nd Class with swords that looks like it was run over by a tank. Maybe it was....
    9. Great medal bar, you don't see White Falcons that often, and also the reduction Centenary Medal is nice. I doubt that this one is ID'able, not enough orders. What color is the backing cloth?
    10. My grandfather was severely wounded at Dixmuide in November, 1914. Apparently he got the EK2 for this action, then received the wound badge later.
    11. That is a weird one Chris. I have a couple of similar ones, albeit without the twist. Definitely a spangenstueck.
    12. I like Hessen, my mother is from there. Unfortunately, I only have one Philip, and it is not a Komtur, leider.
