    1. Hi Paul Thank you checking. How many officers in the Kriegsmarine had this award combination by 1930's? Best wishes Matt
    2. Hi Christophe I believe Rick Research was able to confirm the name of the Generalleutnant Dittmar medal bar I own by using the Lübeck rolls. Maybe not? Matthew, I had seen this one and hope to get it. Best wishes Matt
    3. Gentlemen, I have come across this ribbon bar for sale. I think the ribbons are very clean and the backing is sloppy. What do you think? Best wishes Matt
    4. I don't really see the 3 NSDAP Decorations on this bar but after the Olympic Decoration there could be: -Anschluss Medal -Sudetenland Medal with Prague Castle Bar Best wishes Matt
    5. Gentlemen, I thought I would share my new ribbon bar with you and also my "analysis" of it. -Prussian Iron Cross 2nd Class -Lübeck Hanseatic Cross -Saxon Albert Cross 1st Class (gold swords) -Honour Cross with Swords -Prussian Long Service Cross for 25 Years -Maker label "Grabow & Matthes, Kiel" I would guess this ribbon bar was made sometime in the late 1930's. Given the backing is it possible that this is the ribbon bar of a Kriegsmarine Officer? Is it possible to find the name of this officer? Best wishes Matt
    6. Just stunning Rudi! What time period do you place this piece? Best wishes Matt
    7. Some great additions Christophe. Your collection is most impressive! Best wishes Matt
    8. Dear Mike, That is a great little medal bar in very nice condition. Best wishes Matt
    9. Now that's a rare ribbon device, a first for me anyway. Do you have the matching medal bar? Best wishes Matt
    10. Hi, Do you have a better photo of the front? Maybe a zinc version that has been polished. Best wishes Matt
    11. Thanks for sharing this piece of history Christophe. As always you have a great "gift" for matching up ribbon bars with original photos. Best wishes Matt
    12. Dear Jason, I cannot tell you about the maker mark but I once had one marked "F". Do you have a photo of yours? Best wishes Matt
    13. I think you have done all right naming the ribbons. No. 5 would be the Hindenburg Cross. No. 6 could be either, hard to know for sure. No. 7 is most likely for Long Service. No. 9 is the Baden Jubilee Medal ribbon. A very nice Godet button hole. Best wishes Matt
    14. Dear Lew, What an impressive ribbon bar! Congratulations on your purchase. Perhaps this is a "war-time bar" with pre-war "peace, etc" decorations left off. Though if this was the case I would not expect to see the Long Service ribbon (just thinking out loud). Best wishes Matt
    15. I collect Hanseatic Crosses. I like them on ribbons, ribbon bars, medal bars, etc. I collect them because in my eyes they are beautifully crafted decorations (as most Imperial awards are) and for the most part affordable. Best wishes Matt
