Dave Danner Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 Stahl, Rudolf *20.4.1884 in Barmen 21.12.1909 Leutnant d.R. des Feldartillerie-Regiments Nr. 61, ab Mobilmachung Ordonnanz-Offizier im Regimentsstabe, 22.10.1915 Oberleutnant d.R., zur Zeit im Regiment, 1917 leicht verwundet, Oberleutnant d.R.a.D. nach dem 1.WK Generaldirektor in Berlin HOH3X am 12.11.1917 - No other known decorations, but as a highly decorated and wounded FAR 61 officer, no doubt he received the Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen "Für Tapferkeit".
Daniel Krause Posted May 5, 2022 Author Posted May 5, 2022 Thanks a lot!!! Berger, Wilh. - most likely the FAA 209 guy Briese, Carl - acc. my data plm, RAO2EX, KO2aX, but no HOH. As he was already a GenMaj in Aug 14, he was way too senior for a HOH3X. Next step would be the HOH2X but no proof of that. Best, Daniel
webr55 Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 (edited) FAA is Festungs-Artillerie-Abteilung, right? According to his bio, Berger was from infantry, IR 13, is that transfer possible? Friedrichfranz Feeser: 1875-1938 https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrichfranz_Feeser Edited May 5, 2022 by webr55
Daniel Krause Posted May 5, 2022 Author Posted May 5, 2022 FAA should be FA(A)... my mistake, Flieger Abteilung Artillerie, Berger was an Observer. Best, Daniel
webr55 Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Ah - the guys in Berlin have woken up and made progress in digitizing their newspapers: Here we have a Lt and Kpführer Karl Müller from Tilsit. Königsberger Hartungsche Zeitung, 8.10.1918
webr55 Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Königsberger Hartungsche Zeitung, 20.10.1918: We have Kreddig already. Olt Ganswindt from Wadang/Allenstein is most probably Herbert Ganswindt (born around 1889), whose death notice (at 90) appeared in the Ostpreußenblatt in 1978:
webr55 Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Königsberger Hartungsche Zeitung, 31.10.1918: We had him already, but here is more info about Olt dR Paul Reichwaldt: Prof. Dr. Paul Oskar Reichwaldt, born 8.11.1885 in Arnau/Kreis Osterode, died 19.6.1965 in Berlin (West) (acc. to ancestry) This text about him appeared in the Ostpreußen-Warte 1955:
webr55 Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Königsberger Hartungsche Zeitung, 6.11.1918: Flyer Lt Büttner, leader of a Jasta (he is probably the one from RFAR 70) and Lt Willy Nelson from Königsberg - this should be an entirely new one.

I had forgotten - but so he is indeed listed in the Königsberger, just as I predicted.

Prof. Dr. Heinrich Quiring (1885-1964) is listed in the Deutsche Biographie with a Hohenzollern: https://www.deutsche-biographie.de/pnd116318562.html The entry does not explicitly say "with swords", but Deutsche Biographie might have been sloppy. He is in the Verlustlisten as Lt dR from FAR 54, I would think it must have an X award. Edited May 11, 2022 by webr55
