Beau Newman Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I've had this bar for a while and I've never been sure about it. The construction looks ok and the wear on the ribbons is what you would expect to see. My main issue is the crown & sword devices look a little odd. Any opinions?
Guest Rick Research Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 :Cat-Scratch: Ooooooooooooooooooo That is a BEAUT! First impression: during the war General Staff Major. My Saxon sources are... not great... but from this combination SHOULD be identifiable.Back in a bit. (Start clocks NOW)

Beau Newman Posted April 4, 2009 Author Posted April 4, 2009 Amazing, just amazing. I don't know how you do it.
Guest Rick Research Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Rank Lists. Award Rolls. (I have just spent years typing some of the wretched things out. ) = Decades of data barnacles encrusting. There's a thread probably from 2 years ago with his photo and career, which I will find and link to since I hate typing.

Ulsterman Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 4 minutes!!!!RR-you should charge, you really should. :speechless1:
Guest Rick Research Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 No one would pay, of course. One reason why I simply MUST cut back on time and effort. Dawn to dusk Ricky-the-field-hand isn't doing ME any good. That's why I've had to let go being a moderator. Me:world 7x24 aren't survivable odds.
ccj Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I love that bar. It would look perfect on my General Staff Majors field greay tunic. My tunic is exactly like the one in the photo. If ever you want to sell/TRADE it for something let me know.
VtwinVince Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Great feldspange, and great detective work, as usual.
M Hunter Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Great feldspange, and great detective work, as usual. I second that!
Deruelle Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Hi, An old topic but recently I was lucky enough to buy a big ribbon bar which belonged to Oberstleutnant Gerog Hoffmann. Christophe It's interesting to note that only 8 Saxon officers received the WK3XmL. A very rare crosses indeed
Claudius Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Ribbon bars in Post #1 and #15: I noticed the SEM3 (without swords, earned in 1904) is before two (or three) wartime, combat awards. Why did he do that?
Deruelle Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Hi, Probably he was very proud of this cross and decided to wear it ahead another medals. Even if there is regulation, a lot of officers has chosen to wear their medals like they wanted. IMO Christophe
Deruelle Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Hi Here is new photo of Hoffmann showing its big medal bar Christophe
Claudius Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 That is a nice, NICE bar! I wish I could hold it my hands to get a really good look at it.
