Stogieman Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Many of you may remember my true Imperial love was always the St. Henry Order.A dear old friend has offered me some Saxon bars that were once in my collection, anonymous bars, but St. Henry nonetheless...... I had a settled on a St. Henry bar when this image showed up in my in box.I could not remember who I sold this too, but it has the possibility of coming back home to me. So what would you choose?St. Henry, or this little beauty?

Bernhard H.Holst Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Hello Rick.If you can at all: BOTH !!But should you go with the first one, I would be willing and able to acquire the St. Henry et al.Bernhard H. Holst
Brian Wolfe Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Once in a while a couple items come along that both just need to be secured for your collection. This may well be one of those times. If not then it sounds like the St. Henry is the wisest choice.RegardsBrian
Claudius Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 If you can at all: BOTH !!Personally, I like the "Saxon trio" as well. But that also depends on whether you already have a Saxon trio w/EK2 in your collection. Major point; the HEM w/1914 clasp that is MOUNTED must be somewhat rare.
Mike Huxley Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Ahhh Rick, go on be a devil and have both. You know I'll come to a deal with you on shipping etc
Mike Huxley Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 By the way guys, I have a few more bars for sale and an Observers badge. If anybody's interested drop me a PM here
Deruelle Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Hi Rick, for me you should buy only the anonymous bar and let me buy the saxon bar :-) Christophe
Claudius Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Saxon one is the shizzle homey....U R throwing down some sick idioms amigo
Schießplatzmeister Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Rick Research scan Hello Rick:EXTREMELY rare indeed! But the St. Heinrich is SO BEAUTIFUL! Not an easy choice. Not many collectors care about rarity. The St. Heinrich will always be in demand. So you really can't let it (the St. Heinrich) go if you have to choose one.Best regards,
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 U R throwing down some sick idioms amigoWord to yur mother homes!
Dave Danner Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 The Saxon Trio is nice, but it is not nearly as rare as the other. Assuming Cristophe hasn't already cornered the market, you could relatively easily come across another bar with the trio at some point, but not likely the other. That said, my own preference is combatant decorations to front-line soldiers and junior officers, so I would personally prefer the trio. I suppose it really comes down to what sort of decorations you prefer in your collection.
redeagleorder Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 (edited) I'd definitely go for the first one - but I collect to medics and non-combatants - so I'm heavily biased. Edited June 25, 2015 by redeagleorder
ixhs Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 St. H e i n r i c h - St. H e i n r i c h - St. H e i n r i c h ... .. St. H e i n r i c h rules
Stogieman Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 You Know, I love you all and St. Henry is where my heart is, but I'm going to have to pass on both for now due to circumstances beyond my control
ixhs Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) I don`t understand the meaning of a part of your posting but i think it means that you will buy both.If yes - you are a typical collector. But i would have done the same.... and don`t tell it your wife. Edited June 27, 2015 by ixhs
HeikoGrusdat Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I think Stogie will not take both....he will buy none of the two
