I think that I can make out two sets of badge loops on the Tunic's left pocket(wearer's left).

Hello, I have a ribbon bar that I picked up for a great price(I think). It has a W?rttemberg Friedrich Order Knight 2nd class with swords. My question is, what type of medal is this? Valor or "service" based? What ranks would have recieved this award? Here is a very rough scan(I had to blow it up x200). I will add better pics when it comes in. Would it be possible for a person with so much government service time to have NO other awards? It seems that at least some military and Custom's service were performed in the 1933-45 time period? -

Prosper, Thank you for sharing that great grouping!!! This is the first such set I have seen Jack, I would love to see those uniforms sometime... Hopefully the increasing interest will bring many of these forgotten heros to light for the recognition they deserve before they are all gone...

Gerd, Thank you for your compliment. It is one of my favorites as well. I had always dreamed of finding a nice medical fliegerbluse! The blue on the inisignia really looks great on the LW blue tunic!

Great stuff guys! I am suprised that these cloth badges did not catch on more than they did. I am sure that it was a pain dealing with the metal badges getting caught on things or simply falling off and getting lost. I would have definately gone with cloth on my field uniform.

Too funny... I see the tactic... it is very simular to what we did to the Soviets to cause their collapse... Get me to spend all of my money so I am broke and destitute when the good stuff comes out! LOL

That is a great story. I am glad that you had the OPW2 researched!!! Thanks to Dave and Rick L, I am gradually getting everything researched! Waiting for each data return is simular to digging for treasure... you know something is down there but what is found is a mystery until the soil of time is removed.
