    1. I like enameled signs a lot. That one is sweet. Where did you find it?
    2. Those are very nice slides. I really like the first set a lot. Where did he have them made? Thank you for taking the images.
    3. Wearing LW overseas hat was very common. Fabulous photo. Odulf, another great image. I am surprised by the noncombat medal bars. He must have had an accident on the civilian side for that scar.
    4. OMG!!! What a totally amazing display. You need some Coast Guard Admiral Boards. :-)
    5. Here is my latest addition. While it is not to a member of the medical profession, the uniqueness of it had me make an exception. A nice uniform set to CAPT Richard R. Smith. He was a veteran of both WW2 and Korea. He is the only person I can see in my books who was awarded both the Navy/Marine Corps Medal and the Bronze Star with the "V" combat designation device. As you can see, the ribbon bars are sewn onto the jacket. His citations are in this photo group as well. All I need is a hat, white shirt/tie, and shoes!
    6. Thank you for posting these amazing photos. That armored vehicle looks like it was in pretty rough shape. Is the bad look cosmetic or is it coming apart?
    7. Thanks Paul. This was a pretty exciting find for me. After a brief bit of research, there were only 8000 Coast Guard members eligible for this medal between 1967 and 1972, when the Coast Guard operated within this theater. I only need a Coast Guard medal bar with a WW1 Victory Medal and a bar with the Desert Storm series and we will have the entire 20th century covered..
    8. So mine could be a real item, which was not awarded due to the change you specified? What are the current values on the Silver and this other version on the collector market these days?
    9. Those are great!!! My wife has been looking for some nice trench art like that for a while.
    10. Great history on this man. I cannot get over the condition of these medals. Very nice.
    11. Thanks for the images. I think that I agree with you. Were they always made in Silver or could mine be a later pattern?
    12. I've had this beauty in my collection for the past 15 or so years. I do not see to many and it is a favorite from my post Soviet era medals.
    13. Maybe they will fall into a blender on the way back home.
    14. What is engraved/stamped into the casings? I love that walking stick knob.
    15. I was informed by a friend this morning that there was a militaria show on base, where I live. I had no idea that it was scheduled for today. By the time I made it by, it was getting ready to close and people were packing up. I am glad that I went because I was able to pick up these items for about free. For me, the highlight was this unnamed Vietnam War medal bar. It is the first I've seen in a very long time and had to bring it home. I am excited because the only war that I don't have represented for the Coast Guard by way of medal bars is WW1 and Desert Storm.
    16. Seriously? Bummer to see the group split like that.
    17. Hi Michael, Can you please post the images? The links do not work for me over here. :-) Regards Paul
