    1. I echo Ed's words of wisdom. The seller has a great reputation for having authentic items, but his prices are at the upper limit. With that being said, the repros on these are highly desirable badges are beyond excellent, so be very careful. In this case, I feel that paying a bit more is worth the piece of mind. Ed, There are two variations? Can you please illustrate? Paul
    2. Well, here is one for 595 dollars. http://www.collectrussia.com/DISPITEM.HTM?ITEM=19536
    3. Wow!! I did not know you had a tunic as well. Very rare stuff! I would love to see more, if it exists. I am surprised that more of this stuff was not brought back, with GI's confusing the uniforms as SS.
    4. I am with Rick on this one. I have developed an interest after reading about it in Mr Littlejohn's last book. Can you please post some closeups of the insignia on your overcoat?
    5. Thanks for sharing this piece with us. I will move this thread into the Iron Cross section, where it will get more exposure to the people who might have more to add.
    6. I have never seen all three together. Nicely done!! Especially yours Ed. I have never seen a foreigner example before! What are those fetching these days?
    7. I know nothing of Indian medals, but this one is a looker. So this was awarded to about 500,000 personnel?
    8. Nicely done John! I am surprised that you are finding them that cheaply!!
    9. The Naval medal bar is very iteresting. What are the dates of eligablity for the China Service Medal?
    10. That top one could be really old!! I would love to see a specialist's take on it!
    11. I thought that all of the older bars were supposed to look like that. Isn't this a standard WW2/1950s medal bar mount?
    12. And dont forget our final victory at San Jacinto... About 750 Texans performed a successful attack on an encampment of the Mexican Army consisting of about 1500 soldiers About 700 Mexican soldiers were killed, another 200 were wounded, and over 730 prisoners were taken(including General Santa Anna himself)! I did not know that this medal was awarded to the Mexicans, since they were defeated and lost most of their northern territory. I am willing to bet that Ed's example is now a one of a kind piece. I am sure that the owner will be hold on to it for while!
    13. Now that is an awesome set! Only nine month after the Alamo! He was there when Sam Houston was President(first term) of the Republic!! I he must have seen a lot of notable events!
