nesredep Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Hello!Nice new photos, thanks for sharing. all the bestNesredep
Wessel Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Some great pictures, and so clear!I only have one original photo but it came to me along with his tunic, and this is of Friedrich Gunther, mechanic to Hans-Ulrich Rudel.
Wessel Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Hope this is OK to post - not strictly portraits but 2 interesting photos of Helmut Wick of Jagdgeschwader Richthofen taken from a period book. It's hardly surprising that so many Luft tunics are so small when you see the height of Wick!
Sivart Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I already posted this in the today's finds section, but they belong here also. It that a tank destruction badge on his arm, or is there too little showing to tell for sure?
Sivart Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Photo of the same man, not sure but I think that you can see that same badge on his arm here also.

That is a great portrait!Silvart,Those photos definitely have a panzer destruction badge on the right arm!!! Very nice indeed! I have not seen a period LW photo with one before.
Ulsterman Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 (edited) ......... and one from the ribbon bar article (Have you seen it yet?)...Oberst Johannes Oehenichen from Saxony, born 31.12.?! Ta ! Jeremy!!!! Edited March 1, 2009 by Ulsterman
Paul R Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Amazing photos Ulsterman! Interesting full figure on the Admin official, but he does have an awesome medal bar!
Wessel Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Hi Paul...in relation to Gunther that is a very valid observation, and you are right! In that photo he is in a Flak tunic but he was later transferred to Flight to become Rudel's mechanic. Sivart...those phptos are superb!

Alex K Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Never seen an eagle like that before, If you came across one in an antique stall today, you'd say it was a fake! IMOregardsAlex K

Wessel Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Am I right in thinking that wear of an ordinary PB was not allowed but a GPB was?Very nice photos...the second one looks like it has been retouched - could the GPB image have been added?
