    here's a worn example of a wartime issue piece. vaulted bronze gilt.

    with only 750 or so awarded, they are becoming rather scarce to find

    Here is a photo of Hauptmann Albrecht Tasche who received the Lippe cross for heroic deed as a Saxon officer. He never received the iron cross 1st class !

    The number of awards are around 740, as Lippe-Detmold was a small state and the requirements for the Cross for Heroic Deeds were quite stringent.

    It´s an older topic, but nevertheless I would like to add my (complete) set of this merit cross for heroic deeds (cased cross with original award document), which

    I recently got for my collection.

    The award documents are usually signed by Prince Leopold IV. himself, as the shown one.
