    1. OK, no-one can handle the "clue" in post #50.... heh, heh, heh.... Here's clue #2:
    2. The pin and the hinge look correct for Lippe, but the enamel (blue) doesn't look right to my eyes, (could just be the scan) but if you look at the obverse center, the detail, enamel and quality doesn't look consistent with a House Order, especially the lettering of the motto.
    3. Looks brand new, especially with the rough-finish marks on the back. Enamel seems odd, as does the underlayment. Have you black-lighted the enamels? Should be a separate center chiffre as well.
    4. I still wonder on this. Such a perfect example of regulation. Turned in by the family, this pre-1820 Knight's cross was re-issued by the Saxon Orders Chancellry, just like it was supposed to be...... But what a piece to re-issue... one wonders if anyone realized it before the recipient opened the case. Note that the suspension is very different from later examples 1870-1920. The crown is fixed to the cross, the suspension loop is more in line with a neck order.... it was stunning....
    5. OK, that makes the first one I've seen outside of a catalogue. Holy Bat Guano!
    6. Well, I've never had a cloth one... but this bullion one was woven on cloth... does it count? ;>)
    7. At the height of my passion for Saxon's Saint Henry order, this wonderful bar appeared on eBay in Germany..... take a hard look at the SHRK...... the auction was pulled, probably due to a cash offer, or maybe it was a ll a joke anyway. In any event, the bar has not surfaced again. Does anybody know where it is??? Care to comment on the bar and why it's so interesting?
    8. Nice job, but Werner knows his stuff... a 3. kl. would pair more appropriately with the 25. Werner! Nice to see you! G?tes Neues Jahr!
    9. How the heck did you get that home on the plane??
    10. Hi Ed, any accurate date/number relationships established for these badges??
    11. I think the hype will not be over, we'll just see adjustments in pricing in the long run as I cannot imagine some of what is asked to be sustainable. Apart from the financial considerations, the scope and quality of Mongolian offerings will keep collectors busy for a very, very long time...
    12. So, is it unreasonable to assume that Klein also made "perfect" post-war copies of the RK & RK-KVK as well?
    13. Post #21 is a Baron... but the set belongs to another member now, so I will leave it up to him to post the ID, if he so chooses.
    14. The new "The Order of the Red Banner" Durov, Strekalov, C. 2006, Moscow is superb. Despite the Russian (only) text it's well worth it for the illustrations of variants alone. Oodles of photos. I have an extra copy, if anyone wants one.
    15. Although... this one covers both points nicely:
