    1. Well, I know there are re strikes- I saw one a week ago-nasty staybritish thing in amongst a box of other recent "restrikes". Don't know about the differences though.
    2. Very nice-nice combo too:"Worth, Strassbourg and...." ? I especially like the schnalle mounted on the bar.
    3. I just saw this and will do the edits and email them to you. I have a copy of the officer cadets exam and a BA student at a decent US college would have difficulty completing it these days, let alone achieving an 80%+ mark! I can send you a xerox if you'd like.
    4. Kelly is actually upfront about his stuff and most is so new-of newer materials etc. that it won't fool anyone. The bars he's been doing for @ 6 years + now and he's seen them sold on many a New England dealers' table. He doesn't sell them at Lowell as pre-1945, but is well aware of those who snap them up, age them and do so later. He's also quite up-front about who has done so.
    5. At last!! I have been buying Indian awards for years in anticipation. Sign me up for a copy or two!!
    6. Mr Kiplings' Army is a classic. There is a journal devoted to Victorian smaller conflicts that one can read on Magweb. Of course, one must read the "Flashman: series to "flesh" out ones' knowledge-especially of such obscure conflicts as Ethiopia in 1867, the Siekh wars, the First Chines (Arrow) War and the Indian Mutiny and the Zulu war.
    7. Interesting- If that sequence number/issue date thesis holds up, there were a lot fewer of these than i had supposed.
    8. Wow! Sweet get well present!! :jumping: Chuck gets my Gentleman of the Year vote!!
    9. Jeff Floyd can tell you more-but the numbers and makes are well documented. You can't trace the #s-at least not yet, but they go for @$100 over here these days.
    10. Some of those are very rare clasps indeed. However, they look brand spanky new-no patina at all. Did you clean it?
    11. The photo of the fellow with the silver Spanish Cross without swords is a scarce one - my sources show only 327 of those were awarded. !! I just learned something new. Without swords means not in a combat area?
    12. Road trip to Vienna anyone? Roman, do you have copies of those files? If so, would you share them with us? I will gladly pay.
    13. That last one (#5) has a corker of a ribbon bar: backwards or Austrian (?) Austrian/stateLS and HK? The one above the Spanish cross is worth discussing too-....quite the Bavarian.
    14. RE: #2: How does one end up with a bronze bravery medal and an officers' cross along with two state awards and no long service medal? Pilot? Gunner?
    15. Fantastic!!!!! I am so jealous I could cry. You know, this grouping would make a GREAT JOMSA article!
    16. That's a nice badge! (oops-note edit, I caught myself) Hunyadi can tell you more, but I think your photo is @1930-35. There are no "occupation" commemorative medals. Try the Vancouver Hungarian vets website with peter Czink-that's a treasure trove of Hungarian information.
