    1. Alex, it was written before, it is a cap for the Heeresflieger. Turn around the sweat band, and you can normally see the splints of the badge. Open them carefully, withdraw the badge and fasten a Heer badge. That is my advice. Uwe
    2. Hi, the metal Luftwaffen cap badge is definitely wrong on this cap. There was no change. On this grey (grau) cap it must be, correct with the 3 light grey (hellgrau) pipings (1 Deckelbiese und 2 Randbiesen) for the Heeresflieger, the Heeres cap badge. As you can see, the blue-grey (blaugrau) Luftwaffen cap has only 1 golden yellow (goldgelb) piping (Deckelbiese). Uwe
    3. Hi Alex, the Kampftruppenschule I was located in Hammelburg, between 1963 and the beginning 90s with this name (before and after this time it was the Infanterieschule). Uwe
    4. Hi Paul, the medal is for "Treue Pflichterfüllung" (faithful duty), for people serving honorary/voluntary for the Zivilverteidigung, here for now 20 years or more. Uwe
    5. Hi Douglas, - Where he was born? > Nennaigen Nabburg Oberpfalz - Civil occupation? > Schneider > tailor - Religion? kath[olisch] - His father's occupation? > Waldarbeiter > forest worker - Award? I read bayer. Militär Verdienst Kreuz - is that correct? > yes. - What are the entries on page 29? -- gesund und entlassungsfähig (?aber geeignet als Kolonnenfahrer?) -- Prellung des rechten Unterschenkel behandlungsbedürftig u. entlassungsfähig Uwe
    6. Hi Alex, green > privates and NCO's (Mannschaften bis einschliesslich Obermeister) silver > officers (Offiziere) gold > generals (Generale) Uwe
    7. Hi, it is a little bit difficult. If he had the complete general staff education/training (2 years), he had to change sometimes the colour on his uniform. Serving in a position with the addition "i.G.", e.g. Oberstleutnant i.G., he had to wear the crimson (karmesinroten) collar tabs and piping. Serving for example as a battalion commander (Oberstleutnant), he had to wear his "original" colour, here as Panzeraufklärer. But it can be, that an officer without the general staff training have to serve on a position (Planstelle) with the addition "i.G.". Then he have to wear the crimson colour too. Uwe
    8. Hi, it could/should be: Reichswehrministerium [R.W.M.]) Unterabteilung 7 [u 7] Abwehr [(Abw.)]. Uwe

    10. Hi Ilja, this is Habib Bourguiba, President of the Republic of Tunisia. The order is the Tunisian Order of Independence, last picture: http://www.royalark.net/Tunisia/orders.htm Uwe
    11. Hi ccj, here is nothing that could be called 57er, not the PlM and not the Oakleaves. 57er versions are identified TR decorations from the time period 1934 to 1945, in an officially changed design, and that means in a new form without NS symbols. A PlM has absolutely nothing to do with the TR period, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the § 6 (1) 2. and 3. in the german law from 1957 (Ordensgesetz), where is something written about the decorations with the changed design. Oakleaves must not be changed in the design, therefore it could also not be a 57er. Only these decorations can be called 57er: http://ordensmuseum.de/Ordensjournal/Ordensjournal16Jan0857er.pdf No PlM and no Oakleaves. Uwe
    12. Hi ccj, please, what do you mean with "could be 57 model"? A 57er version of the oakleaves to the KC do definitely not exist. There are originals, possibly made at last in May 1945, and there are post WWII made not original pieces, commonly called copies or fakes/forgeries. Uwe
    13. Hi Don, please try it here: https://depatisnet.dpma.de/DepatisNet/depatisnet?window=1&space=menu&content=index&action=einsteiger Insert DE...... (your searched number) Uwe
    14. Hi, it is a badge in an honouring system in the "Deutsche Krieger-Fechtanstalt". With "Fechten" is here not meant fencing! "fechten" is an old German word for "betteln" > begging The members of the organization are begging for orphanages. The more donations they begged, the higher the award. There had been other organizations like this, e,g, the "Fechtanstalt des Deutschen Kriegerbundes". Your badge is of a higher rank, "Oberbundesfechtmeister". Uwe
    15. Hi Jeff, I think, that it is Schlaraffia (based on the owl): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schlaraffia Uwe
    16. Hi Marcin, Das ist die erste Linie (front line? = it is better to have the picture for a translation) Das zusammengeschossene war eine Bahn. gell da schaut es nett aus. Gruß. (?) Wiedersehn. Uwe
    17. Meine liebste Lotte! A. 24.4.34 Uwe
    18. Hi, I think, that it is a Belgian beret emblem, for recruits. http://www.insignesmilitaires.be/insignes_militaires_medaille_armee_parachutiste_pages/Photos/Belgique/93.recrues.jpg Uwe
    19. Hi, as I can see it, the latest award on the card is the Bavarian Order of Merit, instituted in June 1957. And we can see the early "neutral" colours for decorations without a ribbon, for "Bundeswehr" and "Bundesgrenzschutz", No. 72 (grey) and 102 (green). Uwe
    20. Jason, "Since this cross is gilded ..." Officer cross is correct, because the Knight Cross is in silver. My error, I have not looked on the colour. Please see in the listing No. 4: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_Adolphe_of_Nassau Here is no special class: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_the_Oak_Crown Uwe
    21. Hi Jason, I think, that you mean the Order of Adolphe of Nassau with the own class "Cross of Honour for Ladies", a Commander class (not Knight or Officer). It is a special class of that order, added in 1914. Uwe
