      a LOVELY thread! the basics... gotta' start with the basics. perhaps some discussion of the kinds of awards and decorations bestowed: -long service -military merit/bravery -jubilee/anniversary -non-combatant/support roles i'm sure there are more... and i'm still not sure i understand the presence of multiple states/principalities/duchies and how you figure which is "precedent"... a lovely thread... joe

      i was able to pick up a bar or two from the gentleman who was selling these bars, and found ALL of them to be of fine quality and generally quite excellent condition. thanks for the great pix!! joe

      eric! i'm flattered! M. Bison- thank you for the site reference. mine is actually in better shape. while not perfect, the enamel has relatively few, and small, chips. the ribbon is ~10-12 cm with little in the way of fading. merci beaucoup! joe

      i don't know that i'd jump so fast... these are often close calls. they look great to me, but I DON'T KNOW cuff titles too well.... paddy keating may have some thoughts, or other cuff fans. give it a little time, eric. joe
