Peter J Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 This one we refer to as the triple threat. One question, is the cross on the left a decoration awarded solely to females?cheersPeter
Wild Card Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Hello Peter J,To answer your question, according to Hessenthal/Schreiber - This decoration, the Honor Cross for the year 1870/71 was (translated) ?Founded by King Johann on 6 March 1871 for men, women and young ladies...?I hope that this information is helpful.Best wishes, Wild Card

Kapitular Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Very nice ! And a rare one !! And, there is a more rare model, with a letter "E" on the oval's middle...GreetingsI am sorry, but this information is not correct. The letter "E" ( for "Elisabeth"), 16 mm height, was not in the middle on the medal. It was only fixed with two splints on the ribbon of the award. As far as I know, there exists only a drawing of it, you can see in my book and find the original in my collection in the "Schlossmuseum Jever".Best regardsKapitular
pinpon590 Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 And now Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach Frauen und Jungfrauen Verdienstmedaille(suspension ring has been replaced)
Wild Card Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 This piece has been posted previously on the Braunschweig thread, but since it is an award to a lady... Henry the Lion Order medal for Arts and Science, second class, second section.

It is, but sorry, nothing usefull on the back. The only thing we know is, that she lives in K?nigsberg. The picture came with a cross, but I?m afraid it is not hers, because of the different style of wearing the ribbon.Best regards, Komtur.
Komtur Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 W?rttemberg, silver jubilee medal 1911. I like that slight Art D?co influence you find in some of the late imperial medals.
