The Prussian Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 (edited) Hello! Never heard such a name... but it seems so. I also read Metgengerder. Here is a photo of that unit. Note the arm patch "FL67"! Edited September 11, 2016 by The Prussian
Mattyboy Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 (edited) Hi guys, Thanks for your efforts. I thought it might have been Metzengerder or Metzengerdes. So very similar to your interpretations. Hi all, I have just found a Lt dR Friedrich-August Metjengerdes, born 20.3.1884 in Waddewarden, Jever. He is listed as being wounded in early 1917 according to the Verlulisten. Probably the same man? Thanks guys - and thanks for sharing your terrific photo! Edited September 12, 2016 by Mattyboy
The Prussian Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Hi Mattyboy! I agree! The Verlustliste says: "Durch Absturz schwer verletzt" (Seriously injured by crash). So he was an aviator!
Mattyboy Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Hi All, Can anyone tell me the name on this photo please - something Graf....?
arb Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Mattyboy, I believe that is Bernhard Graf. He was born 18.04.1899 and attended the bayer. Flieger-Schule 5 (Gersthofen) from 1917-1918. Andy

Mattyboy Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 Hi all, Can anyone read the signature on this document please?
Glenn J Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Matt, that may well be Hauptmann Erich Poser. I have a note with him at FAA 212. Regards Glenn
Mattyboy Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 (edited) Hi Glenn, Thanks a lot. His (Erich Poser's) medals and some paper documents were sold a while ago - unfortunately the seller only showed part of his Kriegsstammrolle. It didn't show his WW1 postings and although the auction house contacted the buyer on my behalf, I never received any reply sadly.... Edited January 29, 2019 by Mattyboy
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 29, 2019 Author Posted January 29, 2019 Hi, am I correct with Waffe nmeister Jakob Coberger ? 22nd Bavarian Infantry Regiment? For some reason there is no Ancestry entry for him :-(
Dave Danner Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Hi Chris! Jakob Osberger, born 21.10.1875 in Regensburg. Looks like two Kriegsstammrolle entries on Ancestry.

ArHo Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 (edited) Hi all, I know this is not ww1- sorry, sorry, if not wanted mods please erase and I will start a separate thread!, but I would nonetheless appreciate any help on this signature (This one bothered me for some time now). Picture taken in Stuttgart ca. 1885, french officer, veteran of the mexican campaign. All in all an obviously valiant soldier - but, boy, what a messy handwriting! Looking forward tor reading from you. Cheers ArHo Edited March 17, 2020 by ArHo
