Hi Christophe, nice one!!! I had an identical one long years ago. There were not a lot of guys who could wear 2 St.Henry ribbons... Most likely a young reserve officer who got the silver St.Henry medal still as a Vizefeldwebel and the knight and Albrecht as Lt. Lots of greetings Daniel

Yes; easily. Max von Viebahn, 1914 Lt im GGR 1, finished as General der Infanterie in WW2. 1888-1980 Awards as visible on the bar + Russian Stanislaus knight, Turkish half moon, black would badge and Wehrmacht long service 1st class. What is tricky here is, that his Bremen Hanseatic "BH" is mis-listed as "BK" - Baden war aid cross - in the Reichsheer ranklists :-) Lots of greetings Daniel

Hi Alan, thanks for Your comment on my "guess". My "guess" is, that HE was born 1871, was a Captain in 1914, promoted to Major beginning of WW1 and "finished" as LtCol. No General staffer, although the array of decorations could easily point in that direction, no brave frontliner. I would look in the technical branches. What ideas do You as a ribbon bar colletor have about it? Lots of greetings Daniel

Nice one! I would guess he is a quite impressive decorated Major with a quite unimpressive career :-) Bar dates as early WW1 Godet style, maybe around 1917. Age 43 at the begínning of WW1 he had obviously not the required 25 active service years before the award of the long service cross was ceased for the wartime. Lots of greetings Daniel

Hi Dave, You made good points. But he is a good Chap. He feels as Soldier, no dressman :-) My former Brigade commander in Kosovo, now 4 star and Commander Joint Force Commande Brunssum. Hi Charles, as far as I know now EK2, EK1, Crown Order 2 with swords and pour le merite from Prussia, Ernestinian House Order commander with swords and the Schwarzburg Honor Cross 1st class with crown and swords. Lots of greetings Daniel

There were only 7 holders of the Ernestinian Grand cross in WW1. NONE of them had a Albrecht Commander 1st grade. Best case would be a piece for exhibition in a manufactorers window; but I do not like the construction of the needle system. Greetings Daniel
