Superb group... I like especially the Bulgarian green order, which is also so beautifully confirmed of the photo and the ZVO1Kl... too bad that the medallion on the back is missing! :-(

    Hello,

Here is the medal bar from Prof.Dr.Gerhard Denecke. The ALbrechtsorder is made by Scharfenberg/Dresden and the Verdienstorden is from the production of Roesner. Aso shown is the small medalbar (also marked Scharfenberg) and the minichain with all (except the War Merit Corss 2nd CLass X)

    Cordial greetings,

    Gentlemen,

If I may. This is so hard to believe, I hesitate asking. With regard to post #45 (General’s ribbon bar), is it my aging eyes or is his collar tab on backwards! A general? really?

If it is correct, I apologize for taking your time.

    Regards,

May I ask, please, why these are on Austrian-style trifold ribbons? Was this a Saxon custom for non-Court mounted medals?

Saxony mounted a lot of medals on tri-folds. I don't know the dates when they did this, but I have handled/seen many Saxon bars mounted like this

Thanks for that, Stogieman. I wonder if anyone else can shed some light on this?

Until 1866, Saxony was more closely aligned with Austria than Prussia.  They fought on the Austrian side in the Austro-Prussian War.  As a result, many of their military traditions had Austrian influences.  The tri-fold mount was one of these.
