Wild Card Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I should have said the “(1909) Peninsula commemorative” for which I apologize.
Wild Card Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 .... which makes Waterloo not impossible, but less likely. Indeed. Named to Peter Probst, Hus. Rgt.
HeikoGrusdat Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 :speechless1: GREAT STUFF !!!! Thanks for sharing Wild Card !!!
VtwinVince Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Holy cow Wild Card, that is incredible. Can we see the reverse please?
Wild Card Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Gentlemen, Thank you all for your enthusiasm and kind comments. Here is the reverse.
Wild Card Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Now, other than to tell you that this came with the medal bar, I have no claim of authentication; but at the risk of showing off... and since it is Sunday...
Valter Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Gentlemen, sorry for stealing this thread, vbut I'm looking to add a brunswick cross to my humble collection. What do you think about this one? http://cgi.ebay.de/Orden-Kriegsverdienstkreuz-II-Klasse-1914-Braunschweig-/250687565969?pt=Militaria detalis look good, but reverse inscription looks thicker than examples posted in this thread. Is this a known variant or copy? Thank you in advance, Valter
seeheld Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 This one was for 1870/71. Reverse. Regards Seeheld
Wild Card Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Braunschweig at it's best! Absolutely breathtaking.

David M Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 is nt the guy on the painting Carl Herzog v. Braunschweig http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_II._(Braunschweig) great painting!
Deruelle Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Hi JB, Very nice cross you have found there, congrats . About Brunswick medal, is there something missing ? Probably one knight cross. I have seen some for sale recently Christophe
pinpon590 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 (edited) Hi ! Thanks for comment ! Yes, now it is missing only a knight cross of the Heinrich des Lowen orden... Straube sales one recently, but I don't have the money at this time... Edited November 16, 2011 by pinpon590
Wild Card Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Gentlemen, We have seen a number of 1kl. war merit (Ernst August) crosses but none of the screwback variations.
Wild Card Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Along with the war merit cross there was the military merit cross which was established on 18 August 1914. Although it has been determined that 25 were produced in October of 1914, there does not seem to be any evidence of actual awards.
Wild Card Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 We have seen some merit crosses to the Henry Lion Order; but I do not think that we have had any with swords yet, so...
Wild Card Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Finally, I may have missed it, but I don’t think that we have had a commander’s star yet.
