Greetings to all,
After a long retreat into the hinterlands, I have reemerged victorious. I am back to collecting Imperial and Third Reich medal bars. I will be calling on many of my old contacts to say hello and to ask for advice as I free fall back into the collector's landing zone.
Yours in comradeship,
Vince Leone

Igor,
Re your OUTLET thread. What are you looking for in trade for the items you post on your thread. The stars are of particular interest to me. Hungarian, St. Sava etc. If we can not reach a trade deal would be willing to sell?
Regards,
Gordon

Hello Chris
Have been trying to track down a contact address for you. I am writing a small book on the kS98 bayonet and I believe that you have a very nice set of photos showing the kS98 on Bavarian troops in one of their Schneeschuhbataillone. Would it be possible to use one of two of these in the book?
Please have a look at this site http://www.imperial-german-bayonets.net to see my previous imperial bayonet books under the pen name of Ian Jackson.
Best wishes,
Allan -
As member Noor might be familiar with Belgian awards, please have a look at this one...

Hi Bill, tryed to post on forum but wouldn't let me post photos.
I've been collecting Victory medals of WW1 for a couple of years, and last week I purchased 50 Belgium medals from a Belgium dealer, 44 of which were Victory medals and all official type one's, in this group of medals I have a number that are a lot thinner than the standard type one's, and one that is thinner and appears to have a larger ball suspension then all the rest, the edge of this medal is also marked all the way round with lines. if you know what I have, I would be grateful for any help.
I enclose my email address if you want to contact me directly -
Hi Odulf,
I just joined this group. Trying to help my husband buy a Dutch resistance cross. His father's cross was given to another sibling and it means a lot for him to have a similar collection for our kids. The Dutch website that you refer to is not available for us as we live in Canada. If you see a cross for sale, would you kindly refer me to it.
Regards, Mrs Broersma
-
Dear Mrs Boersma,
These crosses are on the market. Below I am sending you a linkt to a Dutch digital market (Marktplaats) where such a cross is on offer. As it is an auction site the current offer is 118 Euros, but the accepted price is expected to be higher.
I can do the bidding for you, but I don't know how much you are prepared to pay.
The cross is original and in it's original box with the littje ribbon bar for daily wear.
sincerely,
Edgar

Nick, I can't send you a PM for some reason – a pop-up box says you can't receive messages. Please remind me of your email address by PM. Thanks!

Sure Mike, any particular country requests, do have some varieties of the un-officials, a very good representation , with some surprises . I started collecting victories when I was 12 , that was when my preturnal grandpa gave me his US 32nd division medal in 1967. I been a serious collector all my life. For this convention I made wood displays blocks for all counties, I'm sorry I do not have a photo for the over all display handy, it did covered over two tables with three cases to show, let me know what you would like. I will send our country first. William

Hi, Gunnar! Hannes suggested I check with you about Horst Julius Treusch von Buttlar-Brandenfels (the Zeppelin ace) to see if we are missing any awards...
PLM + HHOx + Ek1&2 + FA1&2 + HamburgX. Are we missing anything? Thanks for your help!

Always looking for Belgian Congo related items.

Dear Helen, Great to see someone from the Pitt-Rivers Museum on GMIC! I'm and anthropologist with research affiliations with the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard University and a Consulting Scholar with the American Section of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. I have a collection of 1,311 very well documented artifacts that I've donated to the UPENN museum from my 30 months of fieldwork among Pumé hunters and gatherers of the savannas of Venezuela. I'm getting another few hundred ready for an additional donation this coming year. A fun range of everyday material culture, not necessarily of interest to most GMIC members. I've attached a popular article, unfortunately with low-resolution images, for your amusement. Best regards, Rusty

Hi Peter hope you don't mind the message I'm very new to the forum and was hoping you could provide some additional information about your Bronze London Scots purggaree badge you posted. I have quite a few London Scottish related items and have come across one or two of these in the past however, I never associated them with 2nd battalion. Would you be able to advise me where I could obtain this additional information relating to bronze badges being 2nd battalion as I find it very interesting and wasn't something I was aware of.
If it wasn't too much trouble could you provide me with a sizing of your badge so I know what to look out for as ones I've seen before we're standard cap badge size or the same size as the sporran badges.
kind regards
Mac

Ralph, forgive me if I have already asked, but do you still have these flight tinnies?
-
Sorry brotha-man. I thought I responded. I looked for anything in your field of interest as best i could, and found nothing. There's more than 1000 tinnies to dredge through... I plan to go through them again soon (they need organizing/shaking out badly) and if anything turns up you can surely have it. I'll let you know.
As for stickpins, i sold all those to Chris Weiser. If there was anything among those, he has them now.
Thanks for asking! Best regards!

As Mike suggested, I have moved your Scotland Yard query to the Police section of the GMIC, wher it is more likely to attract the attention of the police experts among us. Good luck with your query!
