Chris Dale
This is a great thread. Keep them coming! It's good to see there's people who understand the order of medals less than me.... the people who wore them! Cheers Chris

webr55
Here is another interesting case. An Oberstleutnant wearing both the 25 and the 40 years civil service decoration in 1944 (only one could be worn):
Schießplatzmeister
Hi all, is it allowed to wear more than 2 bands? westfale Hello Westfale: I don't know what the regulations stated during this time, but this was a common practice. What is interesting here is that our brave Bavarian soldier has a TKM/MVM ribbon (and also an MVK and EK ribbon)! An with the EKI too! He definitely did something rather brave in combat at some point. Do you know his name? If so, I can look up his TKM/MVM citation information. Best regards

David M
what is his lowest neck order? "PERFECT" BADDDDDDDDDDD bars!!!! I haven't done any MEDAL bars in the baaaaaaaaaaad original ribbon bars section because that's outside the scope of that ongoing endless work. Those are great photos of original period To have the exact medal bar that is IN a dated period photo is just I have posted this one before (I know, I know) but it is still a perfect example, too: Generalmajor Bernhard Rathgen (1847-1927) in Strassburg 1901:Rathgen_...urg_1901.jpg Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.... spolei
This could be the bavarian bravery-medal. The Max-Joseph was only given to officers.
