Beau Newman Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 The Saxony/Reuss combo likely indicates a 13th Jager Batallion connection. I posted this group a few years back elsewhere but, it fits here, as well.
alan_g Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Saxon ribbon bar from WWII I like the order of precedence on this one.
saxcob Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 The last award (Kriegerverein 1866er?) still to be identified. ...another one with 1863/64, 1866 and 1870/71 awards.
Wild Card Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Saxon medal bar attributed to Carl Groschupf. Reverse.
Beau Newman Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Wild Card - Interesting Saxony/Hannover combo. Do you know the story behind it?
Wild Card Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Hi Beau, Good to hear from you. All that I have on him so far is that he is listed in the Hannover 1865 House and State Handbook as a premier lieutenant on the staff of the engineer corps. After 1866 he, like many other Hannoverians, continued his career in the Saxon army. My notes show that he served in the 2nd Co., Royal Saxon Pioneer Bn. I should probably point out that his Hannover jubilee medal is a 21 April 1804/ 21 April 1904. That’s about it. Best wishes. Wild Card

kaiserwilhelm2 Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Thanks Pep for reviving this thread. Some beautiful bars for sure. Would love to have one or two in this thread in my own collection.
Stijn David Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Hello, The bar of San.Vizefw. Bechstädt. Cordial greetings
Peter J Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 A well worn Preussia/Saxony combo. Too bad about the rather amateurish attempt to restore the blue border.
ixhs Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Very nice bars out there. Unfortunately i do not have a real saxon medal bar.
JasonA Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Wow Glenn...a superb oil. Does that reside in your collection? J-
